My name is Learn and I recently transitioned from Triton Extreme to an Ableton Live lite 9 / lap top/Launchkey 49 set up.
[round of applause, murmurs of "well done Learn", "way to go Learn" etc from the audience]
I have been using KORG boards for the last two decades (X3, STUDIO, EXTREME) and its so far a steep learning curve with Live but I can see the clear benefits (improved sequencer functionality, less physical space).
The jury's still out re the soft synths (ummm Lite vs my Triton with EXB MOSS Board) but so far so good and I can see that the two are not mutually exclusive but that Live can help me squeeze more from the triton and its sequencer limitations. Overall, much better than a previous failed transition to cubase a few years back which had me running back to my KORG comfort zone faster than Usain Bolt!
Anyway i'm rambling but can I ask please the community:
Have you also embarked on this journey?
Any tips to stay the course??
What was your penny drop moment?ie the moment of no return
Err more practically...
When recording audio from Triton, aligning the respective tempos appears to be a question of a steady hand and good eyesight?!
Thank you for your time.
[learn sits down, exhales deeply and takes a sip of water to a melee of back slapping and high fives from the audience] |
