Aha - thanks!
So it seems like a UK-only magazine.

I guess they had to create the separate web address for that reason.

Could be good.

I tried out the OSIMO songbook over the weekend. The database is very well done. To have all of the factory songbook "decoded" along with artist, genre and other setlists is a real help to me. Also, it seems that at lease some of the entries have different and I think improved KB sets and effects from the factory resources. My thanks to Korg UK for making this available.

By the way, although the zipped download contains a "full" set including Global, Styles, etc. you do not need to load them if you have V2 and it's resources loaded as recommended. In fact, you can designate the OSIMO songbook as DIRECT and it seems to merge nicely with my personal entries while replacing all of the factory songbook entries with OSIMO entries. And it's easy to tell the difference with the blue coded OSIMO entries.

On a different note ... with reference to all the early skepticism in this thread, it's sad we have to be so cautious rather than just accept something like this but better safe than sorry.

Also my thanks to D575 for making us aware of this and to Chris for validating the source. Much appreciated.

Osimo is a small town in central Italy, seat of Korg Italy. This area has always been involved with music instruments development and production (e.g. Fatar, Farfisa, etc.).

This freeware is NOT just a new Songbook, there are some amazing styles in there including 24Karat, etc. There are roughly 15 new styles in 3 user sections. The House and Techno styles are of really great quality to take advantage of the new KAOSS function!!!

Plus there are some amazing Keyboard Sets.

Just click on Media -> Styles -> Open and check them out!!

Thank you OSIMO, this is very much appreciated!

I'm sorry, but I don't see any style in the OSIMO set that wasn't already in the V2 assets.
There are three Favorite banks in it, with exactly the extra V2 style banks Ballad, Pop and Dance.

Correct - but for this SONGBOOK to work correctly these banks must be in FAV01/2/3 and not USER

Also (maybe wrong) but the keyboard sets also look the same at a first glance.
Don't know about their GLOBAL settings - I deleted it first.

Has anyone installed OSIMO on a 4X-ORT?

My concern is Pete's post regarding the FAV 1-3 Banks. I did a Full Resource Backup which I think protects everything except for DIRECT files.

However I don't have FAV 1-6. The 4X-ORT utilizes these for it's sounds (labeled MG 1-3, IR 1, and TR 1-2) so my Favorites folders are FAV 7-10.

Can I assign the FAV 1-3 locations to FAV 7-9 during install?

STYLES and SOUNDS can be loaded individually or bank by bank so you could reload the OSIMO FAV style banks individually to any other FAV or USER style bank, then reload your saved style banks from your backed up SET.
If OSIMO comes with a dedicated SONGBOOK then you would have to change the songs to point to the "moved" styles etc...
