I wonder if Karma would track the sound from a guitar plugged into the Kronos 2 and maybe make drums beats etc for it?
I haven't tried it but wonder. Im getting ready to buy a Beatbuddy for
drum beats etc to play with guitar.

Karma can make lots of drum beats with the many preset GE patterns. There is a drum category for Karma GE's. It can also work together with Drum track feature for layers of beats. Karma beats will have realtime control over the patterns it generates. Good for improvising the beat as your music performs live/realtime.
Karma is not so much like tracks, but more like a drum machine and arpeggiator with all kinds of interesting things it can do to its drum and arp patterns as well as elaborate midi control setups.
Midi channeling is the closest it comes to tracks but still not close enough. Good thing is -it works with sequencer tracks, combi timbre and programs.
I think you will do better in Combi mode where you can work in 4 karma modules over several Timbre while also having drum track available on another timbre. Sequencer may be even better where you can run loops as another source of arp or drum patterns, along side karma routed to tracks as well as drum track put to a track.

If you plug a guitar into kronos via audio input, karma cannot do anything with it directly. You have to route the guitar through an Audio to midi converter. I think i saw a guitar pickup modifier that turns audio to midi. Then the guitar can be input to Karma via midi guitar's midi channel signal. But, by going the midi guitar route -you are removing the actual guitar sound from the mix.

There are some programs that can be used instead of midi converter. Synth engines that can route in audio input with a guitar plugged in there. It will actually take in the sound of the guitar being played.
Such synth engines as AL-1 in a program, will have a mixer setup page where you will see an audio input track. Any audio input routed to the synth engine can be turned on and off in the same way samples are turned on and off via midi note action. Karma generates midi notes in a patternistic way and can dynamically turn the routed audio on and off in sync whith the midi pattern it generates.
It may not play exactly as you want, with no graduated pitch fashion to it, but it is worth experimenting. Maybe there is some kind of pitch control/modulation that can be worked in, like we get in Step sequencer assigned as modulation source for pitch. Must explore to find what is possible with audio input routed to a synth engine put to EXi program and then have that program Midi channeled into Karma. The program can then be put to Combi or sequencer tracks. Maybe several of the audio routed synht engine programs can be put to tracks andeach having a different Karma module making different patterns of the same routed audio signal from guitar.
