I have a huge sample bank so not being able to audition direct from the card drives me insane. Came up with the following which people may find useful.
My way round this is to have an exact copy of my sample bank on my phones SD card. I then set up a part as audio in from the phone and I can audition the samples individually through the e2s using a music player on the phone. I'm using foobar 2000 on android as you can set it to play individual tracks one by one which is ideal for playing short samples. Most music players auto play the whole folder which sounds like a machine gun going off in a folder with 99 claps in it (Not sure whether foobar is available on iPhone). As soon as I find the right sample, I just navigate to the corresponding folder on the e2s and load it up. Not ideal but works well for me. Can tap my way through a 100 juicy kicks in no time to find the right one.
Spent a good many hours renaming all my samples (they need names of 14 characters or less to fit on the screen and numbering them all speeds up selection - used 'bulk rename utility' free for windows) and split them into folders of 99 or less samples so electribe can read the folder. Works well once all the hard work is done. |
