Went shopping and tested side by side a Yamaha PSR S770 and a Korg PA700.
Chalk and cheese, one filled the showroom with slightly harsh, sythentic sounds and the other produced warm rich tones.
No prizes which did which.
Even got a great trade in deal on the Yamaha.
So now its playtime.
Many thanks to those who have produced reports on their own 700 they helped me narrow down my shortlist to the two makes and models.

LOL! You should be doing 'teasers' for Yamaha. Anyway, you've given the game away in your thread title. _________________ When I nod my head . . . Hit it!

Well, I am agree with you in a way. I have played Yamaha psr 970 and Korg Pa 900, and the sound from the in-build speakers was better from Korg. And the keybed was also better. Prs keybed is noisy an plasticlike. But I guess it is a matter of taste really.
Just my two cents.

So there i was... at the music exhibition in johannesburg where yamaha south africa had a stall. I had been playing this psr s970 for 30 minutes now shaking my head in utter disbelief... i had always been a fan of them (tyros, s900,s910) but now this keyboard sounded so terrible . Its speakers were weak.the sounds and styles sounded weak... so i went home and smiled at my pa600 . |
