I want to buy one but I am nor sure so far by listening to demo sounds is PA 1000 better in sound department or not some of you guys have one so what do you think is the 1000 worth extra money.

There are a few more sounds (1750 vs 1700) on the PA 1000 but quality is the same.
The difference is mostly in the "features".

Here is a quote from an other post in the forum:

"I think Pa1000 makes more sense if:
1. You plan on using Vocal Harmony.
2. You want/need to use the sampler extensively.
3. You really want and ready to get the best out of the two, simply because you can.
Other that these, I think Pa700 offers a lot and is a better bang for the buck".

I was interested in the PA 700 as well but i picked a Kross 1 instead, big price drop because of the new Kross 2 coming out,
https://www.scan.co.uk/products/korg-kross-61-entry-level-61-key-workstation-keyboard-with-audio-recorder-16-track-midi-sequencer-us
though it is not an arranger but a workstation, but it didn't matter for me.

2 x33 watts speakers on pa1000. Vs 2 x25 on pa700

1gb of sound on the pa700. Vs 2gb of sound of the pa1000
So i think the pa1000 will sound better even on identical sounds..
. 1gb extra is alot of sound quality...

For sure there is a lot going on for Pa1000.

My point was that the best deal is the Pa700. I think was intented this way from the begining. And as always, you pay more for extra features, but in my opinion they are not essential - unless you, speciafically, really need them. Like the harmonizer, proper sampler, extra memory for it, etc.

But you have a look yourself:

Comparison chart.

Agreed. PA700 is a MASSIVE improvement on the PA600. The increased the wave rom for sounds from 256mb to 1gb... that is more than even tyros 5 which is said to be around 760mb. Huge improvement on speakers. MASSIVE improvment on screen which is now like pa4x. 3 new buttons to control sound dynamics. Kaoss function. Alot more drum kits. And more.... korg really gives u a new keyboard where yamaha gives not much more each time. So this pa700 sound quality i believe is superior to pa900 and pa3x.

From all the demos available it doesn't sound that way. The explanation could be that most of the extra 1gb is dedicated to the extra multi layered sampled piano.

Vs Yamaha, i remenber having tried both PA600 and Psr S770 (which is their best bang for the buck model), and i prefered the sound quality of the S770.
The PA600 lacked imo credibility on some acoustic instruments . Now with the PA700 they have increased the sound quality so i am not sure at all i would still pick the S770.

If that is true then it won't make any difference to me extra 1 gig for piano reminds me of Krone with 4 gig of sounds but 3 were allocated to piano if I remember correctly. So no Helicon no dual sequencer no aftertouch I can live with that.

You are 100% correct. The pa600 was lacking in sound quality compared to yamaha psr s770. But as far as styles go the pa600 sounded better. Now this new pa700. I can hear from the demos a huge improvement in almost all sounds.. over the pa600. Pianos guitars flutes trumpets sax now sound really good. Has this pa700 been placed too close to the pa1000. Besides vocal harmony, semi weight keys, aftertouch, and a few extra sounds and 1 extra drum kit and a tilting screen 33 w vs 25w speakers what else is there ??????

PA 1000 got two multilayer stereo pianos while 700 got one so I guess extra 1 gig has gone there.

Yes PA 1000 makes sense if you play live when you need dual sequencer harmoniser for the singer sampling for extra sounds loud speakers ect while PA 700 is good for arranging at home like I do so I have everything I need so In my case there is no point to get 1000 .

Inspiring drums vs the ones on Psr/Tyros.
Listen at min 3.14, it sounds like a real jazz drummer is playing!
