|
|
Hello, I'm a super noob to all things sampling. What I want to do is layer a couple of oscillators, sample them, and the edit the sample in such a way that it will loop the sample as long as I hold the trigger down then stop when I release.
Seems like I could do this with the in built editor, but I can't figure out what I have to set the loop and end points to. I can get it to loop the sample but I get a pop or pause every time it loops.
Can what I want even be done? If so, could I possibly get a little instruction on how to do it?
Thanks in advance |

Wow I haven't been around here in a while! Sorry for the late reply.
I don't know the workflow for samples in the latest ES, only ES1 and ESX, but I know it works on the same principles.
If you're then able to make fine adjustments close to the per-sample level--increments of 1 or 10 or so--you can usually find a good "zero crossing" point that doesn't have a leftover sample blip on it. You may need to play around with it to find that spot, even sometimes when the start of the loop sounds similar. Some sample fodder just doesn't lend itself well to looping so you may need dirty tricks like running it through a delay to hide your artifacts. It's a good fundamental skill to master finding that point, so practice setting loops and you'll have a more solid grasp on the art of sampling in general. |
