Editing Korg Midi song in Studio One (PC)

Post by reda »

Dear All,
I am trying to edit midi song created in pa600 internal sequenser on Studio one s/w in windows.

Everything is OK, editing is fine in PC provided I hear the song on pa600 via midi cable from PC to pa600

After finish editing, save the work on PC OK, put the edited midi file on a usb memory, open this file on pa600 sequenset again to paly,

pa600 does not read this new file correctly, and play it very strange and put all 16 midi tracks in track no. one.

Any suggestions ?

Kind regards,
Reda

Yes, save it as midi TYPE 1.

I never knew what type 0 was for...
Did not know there was a type 2.

A header contains the arrangement's track count, tempo and which of three SMF formats the file is in. A type 0 file contains the entire performance, merged onto a single track, while type 1 files may contain any number of tracks that are performed in synchrony. Type 2 files are rarely used and store multiple arrangements, with each arrangement having its own track and intended to be played in sequence.

Yeah...In fact Korg Pa series requires both 0 and 1 midi formats. To load a midi file in Style record mode, you MUST export the midi file as type 0. If you want to load the midi file in sequencer mode, it needs to be saved as type 1.

Thank you for your kind reply. I can not find in "save as" in Studio one 3 any choices for saving midi file as type 0 or Type 1.

I didn't see the answer, when I export it's type 1, not sure if it's a setting somewhere. Can't remember...

Look at export options maybe.

Search the forums, knowledge base and google for export type 1 midi in S1.
