Hi. I have just loaded the Osimo update,Christmas.set. It seems to be an upgrade to the songbook useing factory christmas styles. OK. It's good and I love it however my question is, how can I merge this new songbook with my own songbook,(I have saved it). Any help please
Cheers Rob

Hi Rob

It partly depends on how you access Osimo set(s) or other similar resources?

I access these resources <direct> and accept that I get some duplicate entries (both Style and Songbook) because it is never clear to me what path to other onboard resources might be needed for a particular songbook entry. If anyone can enlighten me please do.

If you use Korg's Songbook editor I think you can re-map everything to work, but I don't spend much time on it as I have to either re-boot my mac or dig out an old windows machine.

If you keep appropriate backups of your Pa4X then you can delete songs individually in the Songbook, and I suppose you can also delete unwanted styles too. But if this crashes then it would be back to the backup!

Thanks for the review - bests

Thanks Rik, I have loaded the new Osimo set and use my saved set as the direct location, that way the two songbooks merge but everything is in duplicate. Gotta say this is one big beast of a board but needs a young bright mind to sort it out. Oh to be young again. ☺

Pleasure Rob - only hope I've helped a bit.

If I remember correctly, Pa4X not switched on now, duplicate styles are highlighted with a colour 'STY' but not the Songbook entries.

I find the whole system to be huge, and as you say, an overview of the logic and paths may help some to reach a better understanding when playing / programming the beast.

Cheers - rik

Where do you get that set? I've never heard of it.
Thanks!

Yes it’s the same the difference it has a Ethereal style and an additional set of Christmas.
Before I loaded it I checked the songbook content count and the is 20 or so (can’t remember exact amount) extra.

Cheers
Steve
