Has anyone managed to add effects to sounds on the Pa700. For example adding reverb to a piano sound on upper1 ?

Yes.

Press Sound in Mode section

From display select SND and then select which instrument you want, then press exit

Adjust the parameters to suit and from drop down menu select Write and name it.

Now here is the rub, go back into Style play and the instrument with the effect is there but the effects are reduced, not sure why that should be.

It's worth having a look at this one too.

If you find an effect you like on any instrument
Go to SOUND and select that instrument
top right drop down menu, select COPY FX

now select the instrument you want to apply that FX to
and the top right drop down menu select PASTE FX

and don't forget to write the sound

Thats the easiest way I have found to do it

That is precisely what I explained in my prior post.

But switch back to Style play and use the saved instrument with the FX and the effects of the FX are reduced on my keyboards.

If all else fails read the instructions or in this case as Adimatis suggests watch the video turorial

I used the techniques in the video to apply a global Reverb and a delay to the electric guitar in one of the songs I play and all is OK and the FX are saved with the song.

The whole series of tutorials are very informative its just that this old guy has to watch them a few times before it sinks in to the grey matter.

This is my take on adding effect to your sounds. Firstly press menu then select master effects. Next select the b effects on the tabs at the bottom. You have mfx1 and mfx2 mfx is for reverb and mfx2 is for things like delay and chorus. Once youve adusted to taste exit then press menu and select the mixer tuning and press the sendfx tab. Above the upper1 2 and 3 you will see two sets of dials 1 for master1 (mfx1) and master2 (mfx2) the dials above upper 1 2 and 3 will determine how much mfx1 and mfx2 affect the sound. Once youve adjusted to taste you can then store as a keyboard set.
