There is heaps that seem to have been overlooked. There's a new Pittsburgh Modular stand-alone, Malekko Heavy Industries Manther and Doepfer have a new Dark Energy, for a start. All of which are exciting to me. The Manther sounds amazing for a single osc monosynth.
Then if you are into modulars, the list is over two arm lengths long. And considering Arturia is now dealing eurocrack cases, it's actually rather exciting if you consider how putting completely compatible eurocrack gateways into chainstores* means by this time next year there will be many many more people here with a skiff loaded up with modules they are interconnecting their MS-20 minis and stuff with.
*Another company tried the same stunt, but made it so only their modules would work in their skiff by not adhering to eurocrack power standards. _________________ Stuff I'm using: Umm right now, well there's a Volca Drum, a Micro Freak, an ADX-1, a Pulse, a Blofeld, a UNO Drum, KeyStep/Beatstep Pro/Keystep Pro (one of each), a Circuit, a LiveTrak L-12 and this nonsense: The Brief-case as it was about a bit over a year ago (the the complete ridiculous GAS monster collection here)and here |

Looks amazing. As a kid this is exactly what I hoped workstations in the future would look like.

As great as ot looks.. a few programmable pads and encoders would definately improve the usabillity... and there is room enough for these between keys and screen.. _________________ Korg Kronos 2/88 , Genos, Mainstage3 +VSTsu, ipad pro, GSi Gemini, Roland Integra 7, Jupiter Xm, Yamaha motif XS rack, Ketron SD90.

I prefer the design as it stands. I've never found a need for hardware controls when using any of my iPad soft synths. I find clever Touch Screen GUI design far faster and more intuitive than reaching for controllers.
Just my 2 cents.

Wow, it reminds me of The Last Starfighter.
Okay so it's still proof-of-concept and the details on their site are out of date; the guy is saying they are running it on an i7 under Windows right now but want to develop a DSP for it.
The piano sounds nice enough.

Regarding the new KR-55 PRO (which sounds great), here's where I feel KORG missed a beat: the omission of MIDI and sync.
This would have opened up this box to a much wider range of audience. |

Yes..would be great if they made it VST based..
But kontakt seems a placeholder as they want to develop an own sound engine... _________________ Korg Kronos 2/88 , Genos, Mainstage3 +VSTsu, ipad pro, GSi Gemini, Roland Integra 7, Jupiter Xm, Yamaha motif XS rack, Ketron SD90.

I have to agree with you there... If only a commercial touchscreen that size was available. I've been using an HP23tm/Win 10 setup for interfacing with VSTs - It's just as good as hardware knobs, but it's all down to the touch interface.
Bloxpander is a nice all in one solution to host VSTs and FX. It's time Apple started using large touch interfaces. _________________ Synth DIY Projects |
