Hey there, just got a Monologue and have 2 issues that I don't understand.

-The first issue is that when I'm not playing, there's a very subtle sound that keeps looping. Its a sound like in mario bros. when you get a coin, like a 2 or 3 note ring. What the hell is that?!?

-My 2nd problem is when I hold a note, it changes like if the LFO is engaged and it slightly alters the pitch. The note won't remain the same on the keys and shifts. Even when I turn down (all the way ) EG Decay and LFO Rate with both Target switches on Cutoff...it still manages to change key over time. I just want the same note to remain.
Lastly, this is relatively new to me so please go easy on me people.

Cheers!

No, there's no USB plugged in , only a power adapter.

Sounds like possible internal power supply or signal crosstalk between analogue and digital sections.

Try listening to an internal computer soundcard using headphones, with the main and mixer volumes turned right up (but no audio signal). The internal audio card on the PC on which this posting is being written makes quite a racket, even though quite decent recordings can be made using it, and the sounds are at a low level compared to playing music through it.

It may be perfectly normal, and down to the design, with an eye to cost saving, or it could be due to external interference from e.g. a cellphone.

How loud is the unwanted sound, compared to, playing a Program or Sequence?

It's very low, but audible and only comes through when completely quiet,
so what you're saying makes a lot of sense.
As for my other issue, I'm sure it's due to a lack of experience with synths but can you please tell me how to stop the slow rolling pitch shifting. What controls that?

The second, pitch changing, behaviour will occur if the LFO target is set to Pitch, and the amount of pitch variation will depend on the Int (intensity) setting, whilst the rate of change depends on the Rate control. The user manual gives very little info about this, but small shifts or changes in pitch can be used to fatten up a sound, whilst large pitch changes can be used to give a particular character to the sound.

Do you hear this sound?

Some people say this is related to the automatic self tuning of the Monologue.
