Hi, I have my TR rack for just a couple of months now and couldn't figure this out. It is always turn on to the A00 trinity overture or something like that. Can I set something in the menu to remember my last used preset after turning off and on again?

Also can I somehow put a compressor as a master effect to the master out to reduce the dynamic range a bit?

Thanks!

In Global, System Preferences, select Power On mode to Memorise and then save the setting.

Thanks for your answer unfortunately I cannot find this in the menu, are you sure this is in the trinity rack (TR-rack)? If so could you be more specific where should I find it? Thank you. Maybe I should make a system reset? I bought it second hand.

If you're able to remember the last Program used, it would be a feature that is not available on the regular Trinity keyboard. I've looked at the manuals and there's no mention of such a feature on TR-Rack either. Furthermore, there are no so-called "System Preferences" in the Global section, so I'm guessing that voip may be refering to the Korg TR-61 keyboard (a Triton-based keyboard) not the Trinity TR-Rack.

And unfortunately no, you can't place any dynamics (compressor, limiter, etc.) on the master effects. The Master Effects are limited to modulation-based effects (Chorus, Phaser, Flanger) and Reverb/Delay effects only.

You can however fake it, by setting all Programs in a Combi (or channels on the Sequencer) to share the same insert effects...

In which case you can go to Combi or Seq mode, set up a size-8 insert effects channel, followed by adding a size-2 or size-4 Compressor/Limiter on the last slot, and then point all the channels of the combi/seq to the same effects channel, and they will all be compressed together. Would leave you with two effects slots free before the dynamics kick in, and of course you can still have the standard Master Effects (chorus/phaser/reverb/delay) after all that, if required.

Using a size-4 compressor/limiter over a size-2 version also gives you the option of more elaborate multi-band dynamics rather than just single-band.

Thank you your answers, and I guess there is no such thing as save as favorite or mark somehow a preset.

You can favourite/mark a preset. When editing a Program, go to the Program Basics tab and select a category from the list.

If you want to add or customise the names of categories, you can do so separately, from the Global settings.
