Hi your p.a, manager couldn’t be causing you some issues? Only asking , wouldn’t know if it could or couldn’t.

sounds like hardware issue's to me .......let korg check it out for you...this is the strongest process of elimination .

Very very good point - well worth checking....
Try a process of elimination by going back to base installation status (current V2 of course) and thrash the PA4X to see if still freezes - if not, gradually add your other data and re-test.

I will give one more try,but this time l think i will go back to V 1.21,starting from there,or i will totally reset the instrument before i load V2 or V2.01.
This time i am planning to buy and use pamanager for creating my setup stracture before i load it on keyboard.
So far,what i found :
after upgrade from V2 to 2.01 ,even with only factory recourses loaded ,freeze problems may be less but they do exist,especially when fast switching styles or using search or songbook filter.
This is first step i have to find out: if the conflicts come from the OS's upgrade itself,from globals,or from songbook.
I did use korg's latest songbook editor to create my songbook list before upgrading to v2,and it is confirmed that works ok even with V2. All problems started when upgraded to V2.01
Songbook filter and search do quite many wired stuff,like sometimes they dont find an entrie while othe times do, or they come up with a message that they cant find the txt files,so it will take a time till i start searching if something is going wrong with hard drive or SD card too,but till then i will focus on Os', songbook,search ,and sts
OK,so far,without performing initialize or anything else, just resaved all my performances one by one ,and seems that works for STS,no loosing STS so far,dont know later....

It's completely reasonable , a newer OS have been debugged and floating code of incompatible PCG data are rejected
unlike older one that allowed incompatible code to remain floating and later was leading to OS crashes !
This has been happened also in Pa3X OS and in older Pa2X final OS.
KorgPa incompatibility issue was always valid , for instance all Pa800 time sliced PCM were wrongly translated in Pa3X creating loop points !

Deleting all samples and multisamples and Sound/Styles banks do not eliminate injected code in Pa4X resources !
The only way to have a clear factory setup is to make a factory restore and do not assign any older Direct SET with
incompatible resources , untill you investigate your issue !
If still have the same problems after doing factory restore then you definately have a hardware issue ...

I agree with you,but we are not talking about samples,it's just midi CC the recall of performances,at least it should be.....
Anthony,i did a clean factory restore and left it like that for quite a long time,freeze problems are not so common issue as i said,but they do exist even with Os'2.01.
Especially when search or songbook filter are used or fast switching styles

As a have mentioned , PCG file code is the main cause of trouble , so after factory restore , do not load or assign anything
concerning PCG files , try any #CC remote you like , test browser and make any fast keying between styles and factory valid songbook !
No working Pa4X under latest OS will reveal any issue or system freeze while performing above , crystal clear !!!

I never load a PCG, only partial,first each style bank and then i load user sounds and performances.
i do not load globals either.....
i will keep it as it is now,without restoring anything...and if the STS issue happens again,then i will start again from scratch on 2018!!!
But i dont believe the freeze problem will eliminate so easy

Yes you do ... banks are PCG contents , STY are PCG contents ...
Try the above mentioned and find out what is wrong with your setup , else you have a hardware issue !
I have the most sophisticated commercial pack of 800Mb resources with complex setup of hundreds of Sounds & Styles and
all were working like a charm in any Pa4X OS without the slightest malfunction for over 2 years , but all were made exclussively in Pa4X !

Seems like re-saving All Performances one by one,did the trick.
No freezes even when switching fast between styles,no missing STS while choosing a new performance within a style,no pop-up messages from Os' about speed of switching,same for songbook,everything seems to work fine now.....
If i find something else,i will post it and i will re-save performances in DIR.SET as well,but till now everything seems back to normal,so it's absolutelly an Os' issue.

Apologies but I am still not sure what you've tried here.
Antony & I are recommending that you strip the PA4X back to bare bones - i.e. re load complete OS and factory resources up to 2.0.1.
Then load absolutely nothing - thrash it heavily playing everything you can etc.... but NO loading of any SETs.
EDIT: I would stay away from PAMANAGER at this stage - just PA4X and Korg's OS installed
If your keyboard freezes then I believe you should be getting some technical assistance to sort it out.
Note the situations when freezes - i.e. as much detail as you can - mode, style, sounds, buttons pressed at the time etc...
If your PA4X remains stable then GRADUALLY load your SETs fully testing each time until you get a freeze.
1.2.1 may have been OK but that doesn't necessarily mean that the V2 update has bugs causing freezing.
I seriously think you have a hardware problem if you are running on basic OS/resources only
Good luck - I hope you get some peace with this.
I am also happy to try your SETs on my PA4X if you wish.

I already stripped the PA4X back to bare bones at V2 and started all over again till next Os' update came and caused the other issues i mentioned.
I have 1152 custom styles and i am working with them ,so at this point the only i could try is to re-save Performances,nothing more,but
i will do it after new year's day while i am not going to be that busy and only if i meet these problems again.
So far, i try it's limits,and the only thing i found was a little freeze of some seconds while switching between Songplay mode and songbook,but it unfreezed by itself,no worry about that.
One thing i will need to do again for sure is to re-build my songbook ,which worked ok till V2 but not ok with V2.01,but most of the problems are also solved by re-saving the Performances,so all these faulty entries in songbook that are left will be left outside with the new rebuild.

No one will believe you about this, WHY ? Its simple, its really hard to show them the probs!!!
I,m digging in to the 4 x very day, and yes Some time it freezes.
STS lose is REAL Bugg!
Just try to understand ,The KORG pa series is not 100% Compatible, So if someone loads a korg PA80 style and re edit it for 3 X and then you load it to 4 X for more edit, Than the 4 x dies when recording.
YES GUYS, KORG Dies some times,
So , to the point, YAMAHA = Better sound KORG Great sond and Great KB whit so many things that is more open and user friendly!
CONCLUSION= Wait 3 more month, And you will LOVE the GENOS.
4 now GENOS is a T5 With touch screen.

Asena, can you try what i did and post your observations here?
try to resave all your performances one by one and then try to freeze the keyboard or switch between STS to see if they will dissapear or not
