Cubasis won’t record active step or volca keyboard

Doing my first steps in midi setup
Connected my v bass into cubasis using irigmidi2.
When I play the volca using the cubasis virtual keyboard it record with no issues. When I play the active step sequences on the volca,it won’t record.
It won’t record even when playing on the volca keyboard.
What do I miss?
