Would love to have an SD9 at home for a while.....
Personally I don't think this demo does much for the SD9....

What do you think?

I can only judge the SD9 from the demo, and while I think both sound good, it doesn't make me want an SD9 over my Pa4X. I own an Audya 76 and an SD40 module I use with my Hammond SK1. Soundwise, my Audya beats both, but considering other features, it is a toss up to me. It may be something is lost in the recording, as the SD9 should sound as good, or better than my Audya. In my studio, my Audya and SD40 edge out the Pa4x in live sound, but I love my Korg considering all it can do.

Tend to agree there Bernie - not the best of demos but quite interesting.
Let me know if you ever want to sell your Audya!!! Wink
...often wondered about the module version.....

Cheers

Thanks Pete, and the same to you. Though the SD9 has some modern features, it is, basically, a pro version of the SD7, and neither have some of the
features and sound of the Audya.

I tought the sd9 pro has everything the audya and the sd7 have to offer in a single package? With some added new stuff like the launchpad feature...

Can you tell me what features of the audya dropped off in the sd9 pro?

Just toying with the sd9 pro, made me a happy puppy, the launchpad feature is something i have been wayting for over a decade for. And the style moddeling on the touchscreen interface works so intuitive..

The sd9 really shines in the style department, but as a whole keyboard, the pa4x is still in the lead with its much much more advanced sound engine.. and all the lovely buttons and direct access features..

But if ketron sells me a module version of he sd9 pro with the launchpads onboard, i will be tempted to combine it with a nord stage... which in my vision is the perfect keyboard to combine with an arranger module and vst’s..

Bachus,
I have spoken to AJ, my Ketron dist and sound engineer, many times. No one is saying the SD9 isn't a great keyboard, with the Launch Pad, new guitars, many many loops, etc. He just said that the SD9 is a more modern creation to keep pace with the younger set. He said not to ever sell the Audya, however, as he knows I have been playing out for sixty years, and at 76, don't care a hoot about the new stuff.

He also said there is one more upgrade planned for the Audya. I will try and get together the differences.

If korg introduced something along the lines of Launchpad that would certainly catch my attention... a very powerful tool this would be and very welcomed by many I'm sure http://www.ketron.it/images/ketron/Manuali_HTML/SD9/english/78_launchpad.html

Only last disco styles are let say "equal" on both keyboards. All other comparisons Ketron is pure winner. Korg sounds like bad soundcard in this case. Ketron sounds rock solid. My short opinion on this.
