"eternal" sound on microkorg

Post by Jaunais »

hi everyone. Is it possible to make the sound never stop after hitting a key? i try to set sustain and release to 127, but it still dies after 10 seconds or so.

Hi,

It's possible, sort of, via a trick.

For AMP EG, increase the release to 50 or higher. (What you did already)
Set the voice assignement to mono.
Enable the arpeggiator in trigger mode + latch.

If you hit one note it keeps sounding till you hit another note or till the arpeggiator is switched off.

When setting the voice assignment to poly you may increase the attack time, to damp the effect of the notes retriggered by the arpeggiator. This allows endless chords.

Further tweaks to get the effect better:
* Reduce the tempo as much as possible (reduces the retriggers by the arp)
* Set the resolution of the arp as high as possible (1/4 on the mK, 1/1 on the mKXL)
* Set the gate time of the arp to 100%
* Set keysync on for the arp

Have fun
