It often happens when both hands are busy, but a cowbell is needed. How to assign it to the pedal (if possible)? |

You can assign a PAD to be triggered by a MIDI CC. Since you can also assign certain CCs to be sent by the foot pedal, if you match the foot pedal and PAD CC then, yes, you can trigger a cowbell sound with the foot pedal. But the sound will never receive a note-off event, so it will sound indefinitely until you change the combi.
Better solution is to use a foot switch, since you can assign an individual PAD to be triggered by it. The PAD will sustain while the footswitch is depressed, then cut off the sound when the pedal is no longer depressed.
1) Assign the cowbell in your Combi to PAD1.
2) In GLOBAL, under Controllers/Controllers tab:
3) Choose PAD1 under Foot Switch Assign |

Thanks for the help. Yes, in this way - it turned out to achieve results. To do this, I had to create a program using sampling from STANDARD KIT. But the problem is that Foot Switch (SS#82) is already used for other purposes.
Is it possible to use Fot Pedal (SS#04) for these purposes? I did not succeed.
FOOT PEDAL can not be assigned to the PAD in global settings ...

Also, depending of the musical phrase, I would trigger the cowbell with an specific velocity setting in the keyboard. |

A MIDI pedal board might be more versatile. |

Yes, probably, you are right. What MIDI pedal can you advise? |

There are several discussions on the web about various MIDI pedals.
The Behringer FCB1010, although a pain to program, has quite a resourceful group of followers that have found ways round some of its limitations. See this thread:

Yes, you can use the foot pedal. You must assign a PAD to use MIDI CC#4. Look under MIDI CC Assign for the 8 PADs in the GLOBAL menu.
I also recommend using the FCB1010. It is affordable and very versatile. I use mine as a MIDI pedal board to play the Kronos 8 PADs with my feet. It's like having a 3rd hand! I can assist you if you have any questions on how to program it. |

I tried to do so, but it does not work. |

Hmm, I apologize, I should have tested it more thoroughly. Yesterday it seemed to work fine using my Korg DS1-H half damper TRS pedal to trigger a PAD.
Now today, when I try it again, I get inconsistent results. Mostly it doesn't work, except as I unplug the jack, or change the parameter for the Foot Pedal assign away from and back to CC#4. And it's a soft sound, not full like yesterday.
I also tried using my Korg TS footswitch (the one I use for my sustain pedal) in the foot pedal jack, and that didn't work either.
I was able to assign the PAD to CC# 16 and use the Ribbon to trigger the PAD. However, it sounds like this would not work for you since you probably are already busy with both hands.
If you already have a Korg NanoPad, for a rather ungraceful option, you *could* get a longer USB cord and place the NanoPad on the ground to trigger the Kronos PADs with your feet.
Other MIDI foot pedal options around $100 include the Tech 21 MIDI mouse, the Logidy UMI3, AMT FS-2, and the Line 6 FBV Express MkII. I've never used any of those, I just did a quick search for MIDI foot pedals and checked their MIDI capabilities. |

I have a NanoPad, but I think to control the leg - it is not intended. |

All you want to do is to remotely trigger a combi? What was the reason it didn't work using the FCB1010? _________________ Sam

I’m pretty sure the FCB1010 can also be configured so that a switch will send a MIDI note on/off message instead of a CC. Maybe that would be a more direct approach for this? |

I still don't understand what the problem is. For the most part a sound or preset is either assigned to a single PC message or a string of PC/MSB/LSB.
How exactly are you programming the FCB in this case? _________________ Sam
