Back in 2016 I paid $400 to help kickstart a new keyboard from KMI.

Supposed to have been ready by September 2017.

That date came and went. Postponed delivery till November, 2017. No dice.

After waiting till recently I am now annoyed as there has been no direct response from either KMI or Kickstarter - other than to acknowledge my emails.

I will not bother to kickstart any product again having had this experience.

So a heads up to all considering such a risk.

That is disappointing. Esp since his products have a track record.

Since they are not saying anything the project likely hit a major obstacle.

I would push them , to ask if the project is dead in the water. This happens
frequently

Tell them you need that reply for tax purposes, since bad debt write offs can be used for business tax purposes.

Keith McMillen Kickstarters:

QuNeo, Nov 16, 2011 - $15,000 goal = $165,914
QuNexus, Oct 31, 2012 - $20,000 goal = $45,556
BopPad, Aug 30, 2016 - $35,000 goal = $110,661
K-Board 4, Nov 15, 2016 - $50,000 goal = $57,886

Each of the campaigns before this current K-Board Pro 4 kickstarter were funded well beyond their goals. More than doubled! The BopPad was a ginormous success. They began shipping June 29, 2017, well after the K-Board 4 Pro campaign ended. I don't know why KMI began the K-Board kickstarter so soon. It takes them eons to get into production mode. Maybe they thought interest would die out? I think they first teased the Pro 4 years before the actual campaign. It appears to be their most rushed and under-funded campaign yet. "Early Bird" pledges are a great way to fund a kickstarter and they sold out the $400 level straight off. They didn't even sell out Level 2 for $450. $500, 2 backers. $550, 0 backers. The real price to buy a Pro 4 is $599

K-Board 4, 136 backers
BopPad, 507 backers
QuNexus, 230 backers
QuNeo, 678 backers

Ouch. Not the hot product anymore, eh? Where'd everyone go?
I am 100% confident they will release the K-Board Pro 4. March or April, I reckon. They're not going to take the money and run, though I suspect they were hoping to rake in much, much more.

Hope you are correct re March but they really ought to be more transparent and communicate with backers.
