|
|
My Korg sustain pedal broke and I've temporarily replaced it with a Nektar foot controller, which is typically working fine plugged into damper port.
The problem may not be related to that but since then some patches will play normally at first, then suddenly "pitch bend" up (you can hear it slide) then stay out of key, they will pitch bend from C to D. Typically it happens after playing a few bars. Once they have changed pitch they tend to stay in the wrong pitch.
I used the sequencer to record this and note when it occurs there is CTRL CC#16 being sent with values in the 20s.
It does not affect the piano sounds, electric piano sounds, or organ sounds. An example of affected patch is Bank F 026 Classic Lute Strings.
Any ideas what might cause this, or at least what in the patch I Can change so MIDI CC#16 doesn't send pitch bend. |

CC16 is the ribbon controller, so sounds like this is failing and putting out spurious values.
On some programs, the ribbon is assigned to pitch bend - there is a setting in the Osc-> Pitch screen on the program. You could also disable ribbon in the midi filter on Combis.
I had the same problem a few years ago on my M3 after I cleaned it - lesson learned: only use a slightly damp cloth on the ribbon, never any kind of cleaner! I got a new ribbon from Korg (sorry anyone else who wanted one, it was the very last M3 ribbon they had!). It was a bit fiddly to replace - you have to dismantle more than you think, but a straightforward job. |

It's possible that your joystick could be the problem too. Set the pitch bend values to '0' on the program you're using and see if the problem goes away. The joysticks fail eventually if we use them a lot. _________________ Kronos2-61..(2) Triton Classic, Nord Stage 2, Previously owned lots of other gear dating back to the 70’s. |
