Hello Everybody,

Thank you everybody for the hints on the OS fixes and improvements! For those who do not know yet, you can find (and update) the list here:

http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=112102&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

By reading them, we found that some features may already be there, or can be done in a different way. Please find below some answers to some of the questions in the list. If they are really answered, we suggest to remove them from the list, to keep it as short and clean as possibile.

Q1) Add status of 'Split' 'Rhythm Lock' 'Intro/Vari ABCD' 'Pedals' to 'MY SETTINGS' button, even better, add a tab in global to let players choose what settings to store in MY SETTINGS button.

A1) There are parameters saved in the Global, and other saved in the ‘My Setting’ Keyboard Set, selected at startup. The Global contains the system preferences, while the ‘My Setting’ Keyboard Set contains the sounds you will hear at startup. 'My Setting’ only memorizes local parameters, like the selected Keyboard Sounds, the local Split Point (the one selected by the Keyboard Set), the selected Style and Style Element.

Q2) File management through a Korg app for administrating/moving/combining styles, sounds, STS, samples, etc...

A2) This (very complex) task is already accomplished by Alex’s Korg Pa Manager. While we don’t endorse the software, we did work in close collaboration with him, and suggest to give this software a look.

Q3) Function for pads that let them act as pads on Oasys/M3, in the way that when you press button pad shot a complex chord while is pressed and stops when you lift it. If this is not possible, perform and upgrade that let use (as in Kronos) the keypad to shot complex chords.

A3) At the moment, we don’t manage a ‘Note Off’ message on the Pads, so doing as Oasys/M3 will not be entirely possible. On the contrary, you can set the Pad Track to Drum mode, and the chords will be played back exactly as recorded.

Q4) Add ‘Variation Lock’ to Global > General Controls > Style so loading another style doesn’t also change variation (unless unlocked).

A4) This is already possible with the Style Element lock (found in the Global > General Controls > Lock page).

Q5) Sound: ability to highlight a sound in the Keyboard Set and have an edit button that would bring up the sound for edit

A5) You can select a Sound for the Sound Edit mode while you are in a different mode. Select the track/channel the Sound to be edited is assigned to, then keep the SHIFT button pressed and press the SOUND button. During editing, you can go back to Style Play or Song Play mode to listen your edits in context.

Q6) Midi: Sync FADE IN/OUT with Midi protocol on channel midi OUT CONTROL CC# 7 (channel Volume). Now is only analog global internal audio Fade, means is no way to Fade together with other connect instruments.

A6) As per GM specifications, during a Fade the SysEx message for Master Volume is sent out, so fading on a connected instrument can be done. You must be sure SysEx filters are not activated in both the Pa and the connected instrument. The connected instrument has to recognize the Master Volume SysEx message, or it would not work.

Q7) Sequencer: make the active KBD Sets visible in the screen when using the Quick record function.

A7) The selected Keyboard Set is already shown in the display. You can also touch it to selected a different one. Please see the following screenshot:

Q8) When making songbook entries and change styles to make new entry, keep genre and artist from last entry otherwise we have to write manually them for every new song which are the same genre or artist

A8) To preserve tags, you can start editing from the Entry including the tags. Write the Entry as a New Song with a new name. Tags are preserved.

Q9) In style play mode > volume adjustments, to allow mute a track (or all) with a virtual button (maybe tapping the track name or the green dot on top right of virtual slider? Or a new ‘M’ below it) so we can mute any track and focus on the volume of one track at a time

A9) This seems to be already there. You can either keep the SHIFT button pressed and touch the Sound/Track to be soloed, or use the dedicated command from the page menu.

Q10) SB/SL: Ability to be able to copy Setlist entries from one set list to another.

A10) Not exactly what requested, but you can duplicate an existing Set List, and edit the copy by deleting the songs not needed.

Q11) Media: add more file operations such as ‘select/select-all/move/ controls.

A11) You can select all the items in a list by touching the first item, then Shift-touching the last item. Be sure the selected selection mode is ‘Consecutive’.

Q12) Sequencer: Ability to add notes when saving a song

A12) With ‘notes’, do you mean written infos or annotations about the song?

Q13) Search: In search screen to go to main page or selected item after select entry.

A13) When the Display Hold is turned off (in the Global > General Controls > Interface page), the Search page automatically closes after selecting something. This is a general setting acting on all Selection windows.

Best,
The KORG Italy Team
