I tried to find this subject and even used the search function!

OK...just picked up a used Korg Kronos 2S-88. I think the person tried to upgrade the ram but put in the wrong sticks. What memory is spec'd for this keyboard? It looks like SO-DIMM (laptop memory). I'm thinking they tried to upgrade it and used the wrong chip thus getting the "failure on set-up" error common with a loose or missing chip.

HELP!!! Crying or Very sad

Thanks,
Dan

In my one-year old K2, there is only one RAM bar. I suppose it should be the same in yours. Failure on startup can be caused by other things.

What sort of things can cause failure at start up?

I saw that video as well. However, that is the original Kronos and not the 2. My ram is half that size and my kronos has 2 memory slots. The chip that is in it is a:

SanMax Technologies
4GB 1Rx8 PC3-12800S-11-12-83
SMD2-S4G28HA-16K

Help!!!

Don't waste time using this forums "search"

Use google to dig out the exact RAM spec for the K2.

And it would be very weird for a K2 owner to fool around with the RAM. There is
zero value yanking it out and putting something else in.

You should be able to solve this little part of the puzzle quickly.
