Today, it's been 1 year since Korg has released the last software update for our Kronos. We could celebrate it

Beer

But, Mr Korg, please, where is your gift for us ? I suggest a new release with a tenth engine !! Thanks a lot.

Applause

I would be happy just with an option for custom velocity map and a better resolution for user scales (add one decimal).

Or...

A PS-3300 engine ? Cool

More physical models. They have a ton of them from the OASYS-PCI.

Lambda - loved it. I have some samples, but would love more control as an exi.

Well, it's up to you, of course.

Personnaly, my opinion is that the Prologue definitely doesn't worth the price it will cost. I don't say it provides a bad sound quality, but seing all it's limitations, it is absolutely overpriced.

Here are some examples of the limitations :
- Only one LFO
- Only One Filter
- The unique filter only 12db/oct
- etc....

On the forums, everyone says "I want an analogue synth, so I will buy this new Prologue" ! What a mistake ! The Prologue is not an analogue synth, it's an hybrid one, for just one reason : the whole signal, at the end of its course, goes through the effect unit wich is entirely digital ! so the sound before coming out, has gone through a D/A converter, as all digital synths !

I'm playing on Korg keyboards for more than 40 years, so I love this brand. But this time, my opinion si that Korg has surrendered to the analog current fashion and produce a Minilogue big brother, not more.

2000 $ for the 61 keys version, really, not serious.

That's only my opinion and I respect all who will buy it, sure.

I can see the changes at Korg, over the past 5 years.

If I was the President of Korg I would definitely run things differently and invest the money accordingly. and have the talented employees focused on more on the Workstation platform and supporting tools.

Priorities have definitely changed in Korg. Keep in mind I am critical and opinionated. I am not follower. IOW, the herd goes 1 way, and I go the other.

There are a lot of shiny new things every year. I believe in careful analysis vs impulsive decisions. Don't get upset with this. We all have our own requirements
and approaches. This is true in everything.

1 example. Would your rather have a Kronos in different colors ? Or a Kronos
with more robust internal components ? The answer is not both.

Thats an example of how Korg is using their staff and resources.

I would like to see another update but not sure what Korg has in mind. Maybe a Kronos 3 time will tell but not gonna hold my breath. AFAIK the Kronos is still selling well.
