What I mean is, can I, for example, turn on or off MEMORY BUTTON or turn on ENSEMBLE with an external controller?
I see some players have a digital box which is connected to the keyboard while playing... what does it do? |

For those functions the EC5 pedal is your answer - worth its weight in gold!!

A less versatile but cheaper alternative would be a Korg nanoPAD2 . You can only use it with parameters that have a single Program Change assigned to them. (Such as Intros ,Vars...etc) You need to look at the chart in the manual to see a list of parameters that can be remotely triggered via Program Change (PC) messages. It's useless for anything else that requires a string of data.

The best option is the FCB1010 but it goes for about $150 brand new. It's a generic foot pedal that you can use with midi hardware and software so it's a pretty good investment. I don't think you can use the EC5 with other instruments. _________________ Sam

Not sure where you are located but it is the equivalent of US$75 here - my pedal lasted since my Korg i3 (over 20 years!!)- couldn't be without it as it activates several functions for which there is no MIDI
Cheers
