I really miss the SPDIF output which was available in Pa3X. I am not getting the same quality when recording from Pa4X on my audio interface (Roland Octacapture).
Can someone please guide me if it will make any difference to invest in a DI box to use between keyboard and audio interface?
Thank you _________________ --------------------------------------------

SPDIF output is the digital data of stored audio waveforms that deviated to this digital output before processed by internal
DAC (digital to audio converter) and sent to ordinary analog outputs.
Using a DI Box in already analog outputs ,you will just insert extra harmonic distrortion to the already lower quality convertion
of digital data to analog outputs and this is not a compatible solution concerned to SPDIF.
On the other hand , Pa4X DAC is supperior than Pa3X one (already 24b analysis compared to 16b of Pa3X) , and analog
outputs quality is very close to a premium external DAC interface , since don't forget that the actual waveforms analysis in
Korg is 16b so an external DAC bigger that 24b will not provide any extra improvement , Pa4X should had SPDIF output though !
Hope this helps _________________ Music Conductor - Sound Engineer & Developer - Automotive SMPS/RF R&D - Electronics Engineer

Dear Antony,
As always thank you for your prompt detailed response.
Can you recommend which cables should I use to record Pa4X onto my octacapture to get the best quality.

If required cables lenght is less than 2-3 meters , then any average quality jack cables are capable for this
If lenght is over 3 meters then you'd better use low-Z cables in the available XLR-type connection that Pa4X
provides at its outputs (read manual for this). _________________ Music Conductor - Sound Engineer & Developer - Automotive SMPS/RF R&D - Electronics Engineer
