Lately I hear an intermittent, definite "chirp" that comes from the left channel when the accompaniment is playing. Very odd.

It seems to be to the left out in stereo "space", about 6 feet to my left, not directly at the speaker, so I think it is in the stereo field.

It sounds almost exactly like the sound a ceiling smoke alarm makes when it needs a new battery. And NO, there is no smoke alarm on the ceiling in the room. Smile It only happens when playing the accompaniment. And even then it comes and goes. Went a few months without it and now it is back. Very strange.

I wonder if anyone else had been having that happen on their PA4X?

Does this happen when using headphones or a different amp/speaker system?

I heard it in the headphones. I don't have an extra amp or speaker system. Nothing else going through the amp makes that noise.

I use a hearing aid in my left ear, and it chirps occasionally when I am using head phones. I cannot say that I have heard what you are hearing.

Update: when I hear it, if I am recording an MP3, the chirp is not on the MP3. I am suspecting my power amplifier and speakers.

Good point, but now I am doubting that I heard it in the headphones. I probably imagined it because I haven't heard it in the headphones again, and if the MP3 is not recording it, then I don't imagine the chirp is coming out of the PA4x sound engine.
