The Krome's ability to play samples is unchanged in v1.0.4...everything else seems to be unchanged, too...

Another reason about the firmware update can be issues on main program handling properly the data writing on the internal Eeprom memory. The data write cycles on such devices have a limit before going corrupt. To avoid issues flash memory manufacturers recommends to rotate the changing user and program configuration data to a new unused memory sector to avoid issues but unfortunately programmers don´t follow such recommendation. Data flash memory corruption caused by sector ageing is one of the most common issues on today devices. In some cases the corrupted data does not affects the normal operation of the device but the worst case happens when data corruption cause a OS hang up or fatal error on program execution. The user experience based on product durability is one of the main concerns when we talk about expensive gear. Yes is to expensive and don´t last... I know that. _________________ Please check my Facebook page and blog at

I updated from OS v1.0.0 to v1.0.4 last night. It didn't take very long at all.
After updating I loaded all the preload data as the update doc suggested.
Everything seems to work fine. Nothing seems degraded or broken by the update.
I like my Krome so much I purchased an extra authentic Krome OS SD card just in case I should need to replace it in the future. I don't know yet what OS version is on that one.

Guys, You need to read the Korg Krome update 1.04. There is pretty big change from 1.03 to 1.04. And mostly Korg changes a lot at internal system that help your performance more conveniently and effectively.
I've read the 1.04 manual and as a sound design engineer I appreaciate this update. |
