Hello All,
when I load some user sounds ( USER01.PCG ) in Pa1000 , I get the following warning " Load Sound fails: not enough memory for PCM samples".. How to deal with this error? Is sound memory expansion possible in Pa1000?
Any thoughts?

It is my understanding that the PA1000 can compress user samples which will effectively double your Ram.
On my Pa3x its done like this so probably the same on the 1000.
After backing up, go into Sound Mode, press Record button, go to drop down menu and choose compress all samples.
If you load some more sets that use Ram sounds then do the procedure again.
(It will compress any new uncompressed samples).
You exit by using the drop down menu, Exit from Record, Yes.

Thank both for your advices..
I don't know how to delete the RAM. Is there a way we can expand the memory in Pa1000?

If you have backed up everything (Save All, All ticked) then you can safely delete all Ram multisamples and then load only the ones you need.
To delete, Sound Mode, Record button, drop down menu, choose delete, delete all multisamples. Exit from record.
Now load what you want and compress it if necessary as described earlier.

Side question.. can you help please??
How can we reduce the volume of a particular sound ? Is it possible in the Sound Edit ? I have some user sounds which has very high volume and wanted to reduce it , is there a way we can edit an individual sound to reduce its volume level. ( I am not talking about changing Upper1/3 volume or balance knobs but editing sound individually)

Yes you can.
Go into Sound Mode and have your sound selected.
Press Menu button, Amp.
The sound will be made up of a number of oscillators indicated by the numbers running down the right-hand-side of the screen and you need to reduce the Amp level in the top-left corner for each oscillator.
To preserve the mix you need to reduce the amp levels on a percentage or proportional basis - this is easier than it sounds.
So lets say Oscillator 1 has 100 amp level and Oscillator 2 has 80 and you want to reduce the volume by 20% then take Osc 1 down 20 to 80 (100 x 80%) and oscillator 2 down 16 to 64 (80 x 80%). Do this for all the Oscillators.
You select the Oscillators by touching the numbers running down the right-hand side.
You change the amp value either by touching it twice and typing the new value or touching it once and twirling the value wheel.
Finally select the drop down menu and Write your changes.
Before you Save/Write you can compare your changes to the original sound by using the drop down menu and selecting Compare.
Uncheck Compare to go back to your changes.

Where can one see how much of the RAM that is available for samples?

I have loaded style,sounds and drumkits from multiple sets on my PA1000
I am running out of user banks for the sounds etc,
Is there a way we can find out what samples and drumkits are used in style?
So then
I can delete the unused ones to free up space. Thanks

There is a command that deletes only samples not yet assigned to any Multisample or Drum Kit.

To do so, choose the Delete command from the Page menu in sample edititing section to open the Delete Sample dialog, where you select the option "Not assigned to any Multisample/Drumkit" and touch OK to confirm.[/quote]

Siebenhirter,
I deleted the unused samples as you suggested, but didn't free up any
memory. I was wondering if I delete the styles that I don't use, will the system delete the related samples and multisamples too? or just the style and leave the samples on the memory?
Is there a way to find out what sample and multisamples belong to what
sound stored in the user sound banks?
