Hi there,

I'll be receiving a PA900 in a couple of weeks. I already have a set which I used on my PA3x which is around 240Mb in size. The multi-samples included are not compressed so I should be able to use this set on PA900 also.

The only problem is that I need to create a smaller set from the original one to fit the PA900, which has less RAM.

What is the most effective way of creating a smaller set and avoiding loading all the multi-samples into the PA900? Can it be done on the keyboard, or a software is needed?

Thank you,
DenisT

You don’t need to load an entire set. You can pick and choose which sounds you want to load. For instance from a set:
Load, Open, Sounds, Open, User 1, Open, Select First Sound and Load you will be given a choice where to put it. Do the same for all User Sounds and only load the ones you need.

Thanks Reuben.
Yes, that’s one way of doing things but it can take time to load all the needed multi-samples and then assign them to appropriate styles.
For a couple of styles yes, but when I’m “shrinking” 240Mb to 190Mb this process might take a while.
I thought that there is an easier way, like in Triton series where you can modify text files and remove samples that you don’t want to load. I guess there is no such thing on PA series.
Cheera,

The only thing that uses RAM is sounds. Styles don’t use any at all. Just leave out some sounds. Multisples are loaded automatically with any selected sounds so you don’t need to do it manually.
