|
|
A french Kronos contributor, alias Coyote14, has made a very good youtube video about AMS Mixer. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q2mwwD6F5Lg&t=386s)
He said that it is possible to put LFO in audible range, thanks to AMS Mixer.
Did you ever try this ?
And, if you succeeded, do you know the max value of frequency that can be reached thanks to this method ?
Thank you |

I added the entire list of LFO rates to the stickied Resources and Information thread:

You can calculate the output when using the Frequency Fine parameter by dividing the Fine parameter value by 99 and then calculating that percentage between the current and next value:
Converting from values to hertz:
(fine/99) * (Higher Hz - Lower Hz) + Lower Hz
Example: "If the LFO frequency is 47 and the fine frequency is 73: First find entry 47 in the table. That value is 2.496719 Hz. The very next entry in the table is 2.608299 Hz. Use the fine control to find the point 73% of the way between these two values.
fine tune = (73/99) * (2.608299 - 2.496719) which is 0.082276162. Then the final result is
2.496719 + 0.082276162 = 2.578995162 Hz."
Inverse equation for finding what values are closest to a target frequency:
(Target - Lower Hz) / (Higher Hz - Lower Hz) = (solution) * 99

What a job you did !! Thank you very much !
That way I suppose we can create an FM or AM or Ring Modulator config with LFO as a Modulator and OSC as a carrier.
But is there a way to use such a boosted LFO as a real OSC source ? And how is it possible ?
Thanks |

Use the MS-20EX engine to patch an audio rate LFO coming from either the Mod Wheel or Mod Switch output jacks into the VCA IN jack. Or any jack whose signal flow leads to the main out. _________________ paypal.me/CharlesFerraro |

CharlesFerraro-
Thanks for this. I knew the LFO rate was quite high at about 350hz (I thought this was AFTER the AMS boost); I didn’t know it could go up to 750hz (with the AMS boost)! Wow! I have to tie my Kronos down! |

I did notice last night that the noise waveforms do seem to go past the 175 mod intensity limit. _________________ paypal.me/CharlesFerraro |

Okay. It’s interesting that digital can be ‘pushed’ to its limits, too, I guess. |
