am owner of a Korg Kronos that I bought 2 years ago.
I only use the basic sound of piano and occasionally the drum tracks that are included in the Kronos. The problem with the drum tracks is that I only play latin music, and rythms like Salsa, Merengue, Regue, Bachata, Cumbia, Vallenato, Boleros, flamenco, joropos are not included in the list. How can I buy and insert all latin rythms in my Korg Kronos. Can you give me detailed instructions, because I am not very good with computers and the Korg Kronos is very intimidating instrument for me, I barely understand only a couple functions in my Korg Kronos. Can somebody guide me through the process of instalation of additional drum tracks ?
Second question: I am an amateur musician without no experience with electric pianos. 2 years ago I bought my Korg Kronos in the Guitar Center, Sarasota. I am very happy with the sound, but honestly this instrument is overwhelming for me, extremely complicated, I only understand the funciton of basic piano sound and drum tracks. I tried to read the instructions and I got very overwhelmed with the system. I need somebody to instruct me how to use this Kronos, beatufiul but honestly very complicated for people like me without the time and the background knowdledge to learn this instrument. Do you know anybody in the area of Sarasota (Florida) that can give me some clases of how to use the Kronos, or maybe somebody in the USA that can teach me via Skype or guided by telephone.
Third question: in the section of the drum track, under the Drum track parameters, how do I use the Detune option.
Thanks a lot |

I am not familiar with the latin rhythms. I am going to guess that you can find free midi files of them,
If thats accurate , loading them/saving them using the SEQ , in a Song file might be the way to go.
I also think this can be part of your eventual hands on instruction. I am in CA, otherwise I would lend a hand _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

I got this app for Latin beats. The maker makes a number of apps that focus on particular styles. Virtual drum machines
http://musicappblog.com/afro-latin-drum-machine-update/
Sequencer RPPR-mode lets you convert recorded midi patterns into drum tracks. Follow Parameter guide details about that.
Also for audio loop beats, sampler can work them and covert to program with loop feature enabled.
Sequencer lets you record midi patterns and edit them. Layer patterns, slice them up and patch various parts together in new ways or remove notes and add new notes. Once done, “convert to drum track” feature is there to turn it into a user slot drum track.
I hope you went through Karma patterns for drums. There are varieties of drum patterns there that you won’t find in drum track. |

Shame on the salesman that sold you WAY more synth than you need. You could have spent about 1/4 the money and got something much easier to use, and which meets your needs better. |

I have noticed this. Buying a K based on a few demos as if it were an impulse
purchase. The Kronos has combis but other than that instant gratification, it does not play itself.
Impulse purchases are fine at the grocery store. But that approach is not practical with a $3500 keyboard.
I have friends/acquaintnces that simply do not analyze. They don't have the skill or interest. They buy the first new car that they like. They want to remodel their kitchen, and hire the first contractor they talk to vs getting 3 estimates. They take the next job that comes along because they dislike their current job.
The results are predictable. _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8
