thank you for the observation. i will update the kickstarter page to give more info on the touchplate. we mostly put the keyboard on there to be an easier on board way of transposing the sequencer or programming notes into the sequencer or maybe tapping out a simple bass line. it is not meant for serious performance. i appreciate the feedback! |

Oh, I change my assessment of the 'board then: that is a good addition. I didn't think of using it for something as simple as transposing, I was thinking more it would be for Volca style playing of the Shruthi. I like the Shruthi but it's limited input does hold it back, thus my statement about the XT. What would be bloody awesome though would be a way to use the pads to edit the values of the sequencer. I've always hated using dials to input sequencer notes.
I can be very blunt at times and should have mentioned in my first post that one really, REALLY GOOD thing about the Shrolca is prebuilt Shruthi's are now available to one and all! Kits are all fine and dandy, but I'm more of hobby musician than a hobby electronics boffin, so I miss out on many great instruments as I'd rather play the instruments I have than construct a one from a kit given the option of doing either or. Not to mention that buider error can ruin components.
I've bought my Shruthi from a hobby electronics boffin who repairs old 80's digital synths for fun and thought he'd try his hand at a kit after wishing for years someone would start a business selling prebuilt kit synths. You are starting to fill that gap, and with a discontinued classic that truly deserved to get a second life. And at a good price too. I should have put that in the first post too, there is nothing else available at that price point that comes close to the power of the Shrolca. _________________ Stuff I'm using: Umm right now, well there's a Volca Drum, a Micro Freak, an ADX-1, a Pulse, a Blofeld, a UNO Drum, KeyStep/Beatstep Pro/Keystep Pro (one of each), a Circuit, a LiveTrak L-12 and this nonsense: The Brief-case as it was about a bit over a year ago (the the complete ridiculous GAS monster collection here)and here |

Backer here... And while I don't "need" another synth, this at a backer price is awesome. I like the sounds and you've created in a nice interface. What's not to like... |
