Ok, so not really *very* extra, because for the reliable version* you'll give up your mod wheel for this, but then some patches don't need human control. I expect the same approach will work in many DAWs that have this kind of function, but:
- Add the Prologue as an external instrument track. Mine's responding to MIDI channel 2, and coming back in on the audio card's Input 2 (as Mono, but then I'm fattening this up with Logic's Imaging/Stereo Spread and Softube's Fix Doubler).
- In the program edit mode, assign the modwheel to the thing you want to auto-modulate
- Add Logic's "Modulator" as a MIDI FX plugin to the channel strip
- Use the left hand side for a simple oscillating LFO modulator
- Use the right hand side to do things in an envelope-based fashion (including feeding back to the left-hand LFO!)
- Whichever side you choose as the eventual LFO source, add "Mod Wheel" in the "To" box
Hey presto, a new LFO.
* if you can get this working with "Learn MIDI" and not use the Mod Wheel, you'll have as many LFOs as your little heart desires. Sadly I'm having some trouble making this work, and I'm not sure why... |
