I see a couple of posts requesting Indian Sets for PA600. I am posting it as a separate topic so it is easier for interested folks to see this now and in the future.

I have a set which I got free from Facebook. I do not have the original link to point to.

The set was originally created for PA50 or similar but works fine.

I have been using it daily since late 2013 and though they are not perfect, I just cannot live without them. While there are a few sounds, what is most useful in the set are Drum Kits and North Indian Tabla Taals. There are also a few accompaniments for songs.

Please send me a private message with your email [gmail would be great so I can share it via my google drive] address, and I am happy to share it with you.

br Sri.

I have been receiving many requests for Indian Styles and sharing the set.

It also occured to me that one may also want to use the right scale for Indian Music. You can use a custom scale with the following adjustments to Tempered Scale (save it for fast later access):

0 12 4 16 -14 -2 -12 2 14 6 18-12

This will be a good default for most ragas. In the instruments you are using you may want to enable Portamento with a default value of 25, and Pitch Bend of 1. You will have to use Joy Stick and Portamento significantly to get the ragas right.

Below is the actual pitch values in cents. Annotations with in the brackets are special values for just the indicated ragas.

C 0
C# 112 (90 for Gaula, Saurashtra etc)
D 204
D# 316 (294 for Bhairavi..)
E 386
F 498 (520 Begada..)
F# 588
G 702
G# 814
A 906
B# 1018 (996 For Bharavi..)
B 1088
1200

One major odd value is N2 for Begada is between 1018-1088.

Enjoy Sri.

I created a Violin Sound called Sri Violin, a few years ago, to my taste, and have been using it as one of my primary instrument with all the Styles.

It is a Soft and Smooth Variety as compared to so many other kinds that are possible. Some times I alternate between this and the Factory Sets -- Violin Expr 1,2 and Viola Expr. I also use them in conjunction with Legacy Analog Velve.

Feel free to download from my shared area.

The files are Sri Violin.PCG and Sri Violin Notes.txt

Enjoy.

I tried to load Sri Violin PCG to my single location on user 1. But it wiped out everything in User1 sound location which I installed from Korg provided (Purchased) indian styles and sounds.
Why this happened ?

GKThomas

I am truly sorry to hear about this. But you should be able to get thingsback again.

You should have navigated into the PCG and loaded only the Sri Violin Sound into an available slot in your User Area. Looks like you loaded the full PCG - and that replaced everything in your User area with the single file.

I do hope you have a backup to reload your User 01 elements (which you purchased/got from Korg) and then just add Sri Violin to an empty slot in your User area.

I will make a note of that in the SriViolin.txt so others do not run into this.
