It was really fun. Not a lot of leads and bass sounds, but from among them, especially the MS20 and Moog type sounds, there are many sounds I loved. I liked the Velocity switch, love the dedicated controls for LFO speed and depth. The built in distortion plus the actual tube w/ drive control let me create some really aggressive sounds on the fly. I wish it had a few more Rhodes and other EP type sounds for me to construct original patches with. Great feature.
The keyboard is truly junky. It feels really cheap, and didn't have to. My M3 for example, same size, and in no way weighted keys, but a beautiful keybed. i could play it forever. I guess they had to cut costs somewhere? Still, loved some of the bass and lead sounds, and found the tweaking very easy and intuitive. By the end of the day I was making my own patches and saving them to user banks right in the store, proficient on the board with little time spent. It would have to be pretty cheap for me to buy one; I've got lots of other Korg stuff with which I can create similar or better sounds, but it's a nice synth. _________________ "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way it treats its animals." ~Mahatma Gandhi |
