Dear Forum,
There may not be anyone here who know this stuff, but I don’t know where else to ask, so here goes.
I want to record my daughter singing and playing the Korg.
I’ve read the way to do this is via an audio interface. The Focusrite 2i2 is well one well spoken of however, the pa4x has L and R outputs but the Focusrite 2i2 has only two inputs nowhere to plug in the microphone?
Does anyone know how to advise me about this topic please?
Kind regards,
Johnmak |

Why not plug the mic in to the Pa4x. You then have access to the vocal effects and can output via L & R. If for some reason you need a seperate output for the mic and Pa4x there are many mixers out there with 4 or more inputs. |

Many thanks Astrolasia ..... why didn't I think of that?
BTW, I have the PAAX speaker mounted. Will the microphone still play with that. (I haven't bought the mic kit yet) |

Yes it works fine on mine. I would recommend getting a mic with XLR plug, though a 6.5mm will work. |

Many thanks for that Astrolasia.
Yes I will be getting an XLR Condenser mic with the Focusrite studio kit.
Kind regards,

While the Focusrite audio interface may be handy for more sophisticated recordings you don’t actually need one for recording voice and keyboard playing on the Korg. Just press shift/record and the performance will be recorded as an mp3 file directly on the Korg. You can later copy it to a USB flash drive. _________________ Free SoundFonts: https://sites.google.com/site/soundfonts4u/

Good idea, but the max the PA can do is a 256kbps MP3 - if it could do WAV recordings then it would be a good tool (for this purpose) for doing live (gig) songs it is fine. |

Many thanks guys. Good suggestions that had not occurred to me. I will give the recording to USB a shot.

Hi,
for RECORDING use FIRST the ( internal ) KORG DISK.
After recording is done SAVE it to HD or USB.
The reason is, that HD / USB may be a bit too slow for direct recording _________________ Greetings from East-Frisia, Germany
