|
|
Hello everyone, just looking for input on what type of keyboard stand to get for my Kronos 2 88 and my X2, as the one I currently have, is on its last throws.
I currently use a Double-X "TourTough" and quite honestly, believe it's weak in carrying those two keys. I've own an old Ultimate Support, three-legged stand, but some of the hardware needs to be replaced as it broke on me during a band performance several years ago.
Been looking at Stay keyboard stands, and even building one out of Gibraltar hardware parts, but I don't want anything bulky as the Kronos takes a lot of room as it is.
Thanks. |

Hi there,
I use a KS7350 folding Z stand. It is super solid and can easily withstand both my MIDIboard plus Kronos-2 88 on top (since the MIDIboard has a deep cover). Those two add a tiny 85 + 55 = 140 lbs.

Pretty sweet, thanks. How's it work in cramped-up places, like small stages, or no stage at all where tables are around the whole band? My guitarist packs some plethora of fx processors and pedals, and the monitors take up a lot of space. |

I've seen that one online a lot on eBay. Thanks. |

Folding Z stand.
Thick and rigid enough, but mainly because how compact it folds down to be for easy transport and fitting into stowage.
Maybe a little more weight to it but not enough to offset all the benefits.
Thinking of getting some fuzzy glittered windshield dice ,to dangle from it when it is set up for Kronos. Can trade in the mini disco ball for those, at the pawn shop on Main street.

Goes good with the Sombrero-hat look under the hot sun. |

I'm using a 3 tier X stand from Quikloc, the QL-723.
it is holding the Kronos on the bottom tier, Prologue in the middle and Minilogue on the top. Very sturdy and not a lot of shake rattle and roll when things get exciting.

the WS550 footprint is less than your K88.
1 other think to consider is that our K's don't have a tilt mechanism on the LCD.
Forcing us to peer over the LCD while performing, etc.
A cool stand would have some tilt while keeping stability. _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

Cool, cool...My current stand is similar to that QuikLok. They may be built differently. Thank you. |

Yeah, I miss the old stands which gave us that freedom of tilting the boards. |

Well, since I can't get a hold of anyone at Stay in regards to their keyboard stands, I emailed Korg Support at support@korgusa.com two days ago, and haven't heard back from them. Sucks. They normally take 24 hours to reply.
I think I'm going to start looking into designing a stand and probably building it from scratch. |
