Thanks for that could you apply the same principle to the factory sounds
yes,
but keep in mind that these are much more complex then the starters guide i posted.
So my advise would be to start with the starters guide first and try to create that pad and lead sound. If you managed to do that, then you can always try to modify some of the factory sounds, it will make much more sense when you know the basics of creating sounds yourself.
There are a lot of extra settings that can be used to create a sound, so it's really important to fully understand the basic building blocks of a sound before going in to the more complex stuff like routing matrix, LFO assignments, layering, filter envelopes, dynamic envelopes, velocity based osc switching, or even wave sequencing and lots and lots of more features.

Yesterday I was able to play the new PA4X soundset. Wow, Qui, you really made my day. They all sound absolutely great! The demos already sound good, but on the actual instrument they sound even better! I already have some favorites and with layering in a KBD Set you can get very nice combinations of sounds. They all blend very well, so I think you did an amazing job. Korg should hire you!
Thank you for all the effort you put into this, I will most certainly make a donation to you. (See your e-mail). _________________ Musical grtz, Frans
Playing this amazing work by Qui further confirms what an incredible workstation we own.
(Recently playing and recording with Qui's new Kronos offering too - absolutely outstanding and so so so useful too.)
Will be donating shortly for sure...
Thanks again Qui

thanks you all for all the great replies on this topic, it's really motivating to see that you all enjoy the sounds!
here's another demo of two of the piano sounds:
- Shimmer Piano QR (this one has those shimmering notes at the end, which is done with some resonance programming tricks in the pa4x)
- Fable Piano QR (this one is a thick piano sound that still has it's own place in the mix)
The songs i use for these two sounds are:
- Jacoo - Andromeda
- Robert Miles - Children
These are played with song styles based on the factory styles. For these demos i use the Chord Sequencer. In most of my songs i added the main theme in the chord sequencer . This way i can play the piano over the theme without having to think about the scale and chords for the arrangement part.

One for Qui 'Sound Design Guru' so with the synth facilities of the pa4x, pa1000 and pa700.
Is it possible with the synth engine to create the Vox Humana sound from the song cars.
In a vst its two saw waves detuned with a bit of lfo.
Slow attack
yes that's absolutely no problem in the Pa series.
to do that do the following:
- create a sound with 2 oscs
- set osc 1 to a saw sample
- set osc 2 to a saw sample
- now detune both oscs by selecting osc 1 and set the tune to -20 and to +20 for osc 2 (raising the amount of - versus + tuning determine the thickness of the detuned sound.)
- no go to the pitch page, EG subtab
- set the envelope to your liking
in the middle area on your screen you will see a section where you can set the AMS sources, There are two ams sources available for the pitch envelope.
- Set AMS1 to LFO 1 and add the amount you like
- then go to the LFO 1 page and modify the lfo speed to your liking
Done
The AMS LFO source is added to your pitch envelope, this can give very interesting results if you are using this.
Because the PA series has a standard Substractive synth on board you can use the Saw, Square, Sine or Triangle samples to get the same starting point as on standard VA synthesizers. I do it all the time for my EDM sounds i'm working on. It's an impressive synth engine considering it's marketed as a keyboard.
Thanks for that. Bet they dont have a synth on the Genos. _________________ Gem Wk4, Technics Kn5000, Solton Ms60, Yamaha Psr K1, Korg Pa50sd, Tyros 4, Korg Pa700
Have looked through the sound set on the Pa700 trying to find the basic wave forms to create the sounds. _________________ Gem Wk4, Technics Kn5000, Solton Ms60, Yamaha Psr K1, Korg Pa50sd, Tyros 4, Korg Pa700
Found the saw1 on the Pa700 its 700. Can you create a unison effect ? _________________ Gem Wk4, Technics Kn5000, Solton Ms60, Yamaha Psr K1, Korg Pa50sd, Tyros 4, Korg Pa700

yes, by using the tune feature of each osc. The more oscs you use where every osc has a different the tune setting, the 'fatter' the sound.
Keep in mind that whenever you add an extra osc with for instance a tune value of -50 that you have to add an extra osc with a tune value of +50 to keep the sound balanced.
Let me give a simplified example:
You have to experiment which detune values will work best. I do this from memory and don't have a pa4x at hand, but you can create for instance 5 oscs with the same saw sound with the following tune settings
- tune 0 (main osc)
- tune -20
- tune +20
- tune -50
- tune +50
now you have created a 5 voice unison saw sound. which means that every note you play will use 5 voices from your available polyphony.
Also don't forget to experiment with the panning position of each osc, this helps to create those wide sounding 'fat' detuned saw sound.
You can even simulate a light form of analog drifting if you assign lfo's to the pitch value, etc. you can create really impressive saw sounds once you dive into the synth editing pages.
I guess this is more than enough information for you to start trying to create your own ultimate saw sound
Thanks for that took me a while to find the waveforms on the Pa700 _________________ Gem Wk4, Technics Kn5000, Solton Ms60, Yamaha Psr K1, Korg Pa50sd, Tyros 4, Korg Pa700
@ QuiRobinez,
I want to combine your sounds with my working set and use them in Style Mode.
Here are some questions:
Q1- I tried to listen your sounds through the Direct tab (through USB flash drive) but nothing is showing. I've already set your .SET it in Global > Direct Folder > Browse.
Q2- Is it possible to have and use this sound set as Keyboard Sets with their own effects.
Thanks
