I like Karma. Its fun to experiment, jam around , create some new ideas, etc.
I consider that casual use. Nothing wrong with having fun.
Are you taking your knowledge and use of Karma further ?
Practical to me, is to help song writing or band performance.
Or maybe some type of training ? Or some sound development for commercial purpose ? _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

Hello Greg,
Your question about Karma with the Kronos makes me remember of the race sequence in the Steven Spielberg's movie "Ready Player 1". The winner of the race goes backward !!! Karma is very useful in the way that it makes us think musically in unexpected directions. Sometimes it works, sometimes not but always it makes us being more curious wth a wider angle of view for other experimental music forms. _________________ trees are going fast.

Good to hear from you. Very funny example.
I like your point, that Karma opens up musical avenues we might not think of.
Kay is an uber talented keyboardist and I think that contributed to Karma. _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

In a mainstream commercial trax
For a New York runway event a while ago.

I find Karma invaluable, but I use it in a rather unorthodox way. I use it strictly to change between programs or combinations, including splits and layers, all without any cutoff of sound. I also find it much easier to use the Karma scene buttons to change sounds rather than the touchscreen. |

Using "fully KARMA-fied" combis will take your music creativity to exponential levels. There is just so much to work with. If, however, you are needing to design/craft your own KARMA-fied combination, let me tell you from my own experience designing collections for Karma Lab, you better be prepared to invest a good amount of time. Basically, it's like playing chess on mega levels because KARMA technology is extremely deep with limitless...and I do mean limitless possibilities. When you're done tweaking and polishing your combi, you end up with a fully orchestrated tool for composition...your own composition. If however, you don't have the time or inclination to craft your own fully KARMA-fied combi, then look to third-party producers such as Karma Lab https://www.karma-lab.com/main.html?p=index.html _________________ Cheers,

Yes in my opinion its "TOO Deep"
They should have made it easier
for producers to utilize,with 2 options :
1. : A Basic interface
2. : An Advanced Interface

I am actually in a process of deleting most preloaded COMBIS with KARMA ( with a few exceptions).
I have no use of it. it was fun for a week or two. Now I am bored ( or not my cup of tea) after having Kronos 2 for a month.
I am extracting only parts ( mostly arpeggios ) that can have a real use to me, and re-saving them. As of now there are 12 Combis already gone for good. |

Many combis have 4 modules running which makes for a busy sound.
Stephen explained why and I get it.
As you might know, you can click off Karma in Global _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

Hi Greg,
Yes, we have taken a long break from combi development. I have been working (slowly) on additional combis for the Catalyst line. However, family emergencies, deaths of loved ones, other issues have interfered with the type of concentration needed to produce a high quality product. Thanks for asking. _________________ Cheers,
