Hi, happy to be part of your community.
After dreaming of it for more than 2 years, my new Kronos will arrive next Tuesday with a K&M 18810 stand with accessories for iPad, laptop, an M-audio 2x2 audio interface and some cables.
I already have an iMac 5k 2015, m-audio Bx5 monitors, a Korg Nano control 2 and some different headphones...
Will I miss any other major accessories? I want to be sure that I have everything for Tuesday before starting with the cabling...

Another question, I saw a video where someone was using a Korg nanopad2 with the Kronos 2. Can I connect it to and use it directly with the Kronos or do I need to connect it to my Mac? Can i use it like a loop station or a loop station is already integrated in the Kronos or should I add a real loop station?

Thank you for you help. You will see me here very often for the next weeks, months I think. I have so much to learn.

Welcome to the forum.

The Kronos and a decent pair of headphones, is all that is needed to start enjoying the sonic marvel that is the Kronos.

The nanoPAD2 can be connected direct to the Kronos, and its top row of 8 pads will map directly to the Kronos' chord "pads". Each Program and Combination comes with the chord pads mapped already, and Sequencer mode also has chord pads mapped. The nanoPAD2 sends velocity, too, allowing for expressive play.

An important accessory is a sustain pedal, especially when playing piano Programs and Combis, and less so an expression pedal.

A good Sustain pedal such as the Korg DS-1H, and a cheap foot switch will do.

No reason to not add a cheap foot switch for extra hands free control.

You have listed so much in your setup that you will certainly have your hands full with all the controlling you can do from Kronos front panel, the NanoPad and the computers and iPad.

A foot switch to handle an important task here or there, is well worth it.
And cheap, even if you get a good one. I got the time tested Yamaha square foot switch that most keyboards use as sustain, and then got a second foot switch made by korg. And yes i use both foot switches at the same time in my setup.
I have an external drum sequencer that uses one for start and stop drum track, and that sends the same signal to Kronos and even stops Karma in Kronos.
The other foot switch is plugged into kronos and controls SW where i can have any of a number of linked controls and their parameters.
Use foot work to bring in and out some parameter changes. Many other options it could also be used for.

Expression pedal is one i decided was not so important. But i would get one to have fun with if i was not already more than filled up with options to work with in and around kronos.

I don't know if you have edited your comment or if it's a forum engine problem, but each time i refresh the page your text is longer ?!?

Yes a sustain pedal is coming too, the Korg DS1h.
Thx for your suggestion for the expression pedal, my husband just ordered one and the nanopad2 as part of my birthday gift Wink

I try to minimise changes to posts to simple spelling and grammar corrections after someone else has replied, since it can seem like bad etiquette, alter the context, and break the flow of the thread, but editing was in progress before other posts appeared. The forum "engine" does not show if a posting is being edited, though it does show if edits have been made after other postings have appeared.

Hope that makes sense.

Congratulations on your birthday.

Official Korg video Manual on Youtube. Great for your first time especially if you are not coming from previous korg workstations like Oasys or M3.

https://youtu.be/k3Xkfi58w6Y

https://youtu.be/BJ4VvxUzG6E

https://youtu.be/tE3t44wirSw

I posted the first three manual videos here, but there are more that you can easily search for by entering the korg Youtube channel, or go with what cues up into suggestion lineup after each video.
Also Korg has Tutorial videos that go indepth for some sections of Kronos.
Like one tutorial for effects section. Effects is not your ordinary assign and done situation. It has lots of features, settings and routing options.

I think 6 videos for the Kronos video manual series.
Then at least two videos for eeffect tutorial and another video just for CX-3 tone wheel Organ.

Hello Flabis,

Content de te voir rejoindre les heureux propriétaires du Kronos !

I've posted a thread where I listed the most important tuto contributors :
http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=116155

Mastering the Kronos requires many time but it's always rewarding.

Many guys (or perhaps girls, sorry) knows it very well and are always ready to help.

I would advise you to take first the operation guide (available in french) and follow it, step by step. (https://www.korg.com/us/support/download/manual/0/424/2122/)
Then, you can enter deeply in all functions with Parameter Guide, often mentioned here (about 1200 pages !) https://www.korg.com/us/support/download/manual/0/424/2011/

You can also get to Audiokeys french forum : https://www.audiokeys.net/forum/forum/besoin-d-aide/les-synth%C3%A9tiseurs-expandeurs-et-workstations/korg

Enjoy it !

I'm mainly a piano player but i would like to add some soft accompaniments to my covers and want to compose new age music. Each time i've tried the Kronos, I was completely in trans, it's so inspirational and i wasn't able stop to improvise.
I used to have chronologically a Yamaha YDP, a CVP105, a Kawai K2 ATX, a Yamaha psr 975, a CVP503, a grand Yamaha GC1. I sold my CVP when i discovered the Kronos 3 years ago but a lot of people have suggested me to start with a daw and a good midi keyboard, so I bought the NI Komplete 88 and their pack Ultimate 10. Even coming from the computer world, it was too complex for me, during one year, i just tried different sounds, create a good a good template but i didn't create any song and didn't play a lot. So I sold everything and came back to a good digital piano, the Kawai CS8.
A few months ago, I put my hands again in LogicPro and only his integrated instruments. It is more easy but limited. I record a piano track on my CS8 and create accompaniments with an M-audio Code 61. A little bit disappointed by the Code 61, I went to a shop for a better midi keyboard but as they had the Kronos, I tried it, and again i was totally in love. Just push a button, and I have nice and inspiring sounds without any limitation in the future.
Sorry for this long story, i'm young only in my head Wink but this can explain my profile, my knowledge and my expectations. and no I don't have any experience with any other workstation and don't know where to start. There are so much tutorials on the web and i don't want to waste my time.
(I've already seen all reviews and demos)

I think you will enjoy many years with Kronos + the pianos. I also find it to be inspiring for music composition - have composed 40 original songs on Soundcloud. I prefer using the SEQ for recording- the work flow, once you get used to it is very helpful.

My piano skills are somewhat average but Kronos has connected with my muse per the following:

As far as DAW-based pianos go, Spectrasonics Keyscape is rather good. Took a while to work out which MIDI keyboard is being used for the demo videos, though. After a bit of research, I'm pretty sure it's the Roland A-88.

Question about foot switch:
Now I’m trying to play with loops. I want to play 4 bars with a bass, then it continues to loop, then I play 4 bars with a second program, make it loop and so on. For now I can do it with the sequencer manually, but un real-time, I suppose I can do that with de karma scenes. And I suppose I can change the karma scenes with a foot switch, am I right? In this case, can you tell me what kind of foot switch do you recommend ? Any reference?

Also I didn’t find where in the complete Manuel, they explain this procedure. Can I do this with a combi or do I need to create a song template?
If Qui Robinez or any other guy made a tutorial about this, what key word should I search? I’m new with all this terms.
