I'm using Gig Performer and have a Rackspace in which I have two MIDI controllers. The Kronos is not sending MIDI information. I've swapped out USB cables with my other controller to see if my cable is bad, but still no MIDI. My plugin is set to OMNI. Under Global/MIDI in the Kronos, the Basic MIDI channel is set to 1. Where am I looking to figure this out?

Any suggestions? Bueller?
Replies I've received on the Gig Performer forum, while appreciated, haven't been fruitful as of yet.
I'm guessing that this is simply user error.

User error can be looked into if more info is given about your steps taken.
Are you plugged into USB-B or USB-A ports?
Have you looked at the global midi settings such as internal or external midi?
Is midi clock set to external for Midi or USB in global midi clock setting?
Or set to internal?
It is likely the external devices. Did you instal Kronos Midi Driver on the computer and do midi setup?
Is the software system recognizing the kronos in any way or the kronos midi driver?
Settings in the computer could be the issue. |

It's USB B out of Kronos to the Macbook Pro.
In Global, the basic MIDI channel is set to 1
In External 1 & 2 everything is Gch
MIDI clock is set to internal
I downloaded the Korg MIDI driver and installed it. The Audio MIDI Setup The Kronos icon is there, but greyed out. There is a USB MIDI device icon as well that's not greyed out, as well as my Nord Electro icon.
My Sibelius notation program doesn't see the Kronos. |

Kronos interfaces to show up as a plugin maybe as an audio unit plugin.
If it is greyed out, it is missing a step in having it connected functionally.
I don’t know enough to understand any separation between the USB midi side and AU side of Kronos being installed as a plugin.
Most plugins have to go through an instalation process and that may be why Kronos is recognized but greyed out.

That is a video about general instalation of plug-ins on Mac.
Kronos is treated like a plugin when it gets plugged into Mac and should have its own plug-in icon showing up on Mac. I assume that is what is greyed out.
If kronos icon s howing up in mac, then the rest must be instalation in mac or other software system settings.
The video has enough details to get you digging around your Mac software systems for enough clues. That is the best i can do -which is far from pointing you to the solution in one step.
Works better for me in the long run, to go through long drawn out process of sweeping through the sytem for understanding a greater sequence of events related to or tied into a single task i am trying to do.
So i think the generalized topic video is worth it for finding clues. |

So, per 19naia's post about the MIDI driver, I downloaded it again, again with same issue. I then read the text file and discovered that there is a known bug with it that prevents it from working with the OS X version I was using. So stepping through my upgrade fears, I jumped up the 10.1.4 nad voila, my Kronos was now seen by all my music programs, the only issue being that Amazing Slow Downer wasn't compatible and all that took was going to the Roni Music website and downloading his latest driver.
And GregC, the Bueller reference is a nod to 80's pop culture:) Thank you for your research into that!
