its ok to be curious. But if you hack away at certain components inside your K, you have voided your factory warranty.

I would never advise someone unskilled to open a kronos and fiddle. if you've a fault within the 1st year which causes poor performance or a potential electrical risk, etc or the instrument is crashing, legally speaking, korg MUST resolve this for you, either directly or through the dealer. Please, do not attempt to go in with multimeters, soldering irons, etc, that's not your job to do, that's for the dealer and korg to do.

the only time I'd advise otherwise is if you have electronics experience and background, also the kronis is OUT OF WARRANTY and parts could be acquired where needed.
