I have never seen any videos demonstrating the Electribe playing a multi timbral synth so I wondered if it would work so I paired it to an Ensoniq Esq1 which can play 8 different patches (midi 1- at the same time. I can sequence 8 separate patches from the electribe. This is a really lethal combination. I plan on creating a midi template full of arpeggios that I can use with this setup. The idea is that the bottom row of pads (midi 9-16) will be the drum and percussion while the top will be midi sequencing the esq1. |

After experimenting with this combination I’m really impressed at the possibilities. I have my Electribe 2 sending midi to the esq1 and playing 8 different patches at once. I have the top left 4 pads 1-4 playing esq1 synths than blend in something cool on the Electribe. Than do the same on the bottom 4 pads 9-12 doing drums on the esq1 (very 80s sounding!) paired with percussion on the Electribe. |
