Hi all
Very often an “odd” chord appears in a piece of music that is not in the KEY that the music is written in. Example in the key of C there could be an E7 say. Or the key of G could have an A7. Now this is all very well when playing but what about when we use the transpose button ?
All of the 7 normal chords of a key are transposed to their correct place but what happens to these “odd” ones. Any comments please ?
Thanks

Hey Dylan
Real sorry my friend but I am a little confused by your question.
Other than actually transposing the chords should follow accurately transposed.
So playing in C with an E7 in the music will of course be fine - let's say you transpose up 3 - the C will become Eb and the E7 will become G7
I don't believe this is your question - I think I may have misunderstood you here....

Well done Pete
Just thinking about what you said has got me there. Now transpose up or down and play the "odd" chords as they appear in the music. As you said the "odd" chords transpose to suit. Before I was looking at chord charts and not seeing these odd chords. Hope that makes sense ? Now I know just to play them as they appear.
The thing is Pete I have always played in the keys of the original music. Never transposed on my PA4X before but now it has opened up some interesting ideas to play around with. Should have tried it long ago.
Thanks
