|
|
I have just got my Radias working with the Sound Editor in windows 10 and it works really cool.
But now I would like to use my Keylab 25 midi controller as the "Note MIDI IN device" listed in the Preferences of the sound editor.
Does what I want to do make sense or is even possible.
The manual says "don't use the RADIAS 1 KBD/KNOB for the Note MIDI IN, but what are the other options, what are the scenarios ?
Or should I be connecting my controller directly to the Radias via its midi input whilst the Radias USB is connected to the Sound Editor and not be confusing the two ? |

Hi,
It does make sense. Different scenarios are possible.
1. Connect directly the Keylab to the Radias using a MIDI cable (DIN), while keeping the Radias connected through USB. It should normally not mix up things. Make sure to choose "Not use MIDI IN device" in the preferences of the editor.
2. Connect the Keylab using USB to your PC as well. Install the driver if needed. Choose now for MIDI IN device the Keylab in the preferences of the editor. This way, notes received from the keylab by your PC will be forwarded by the editor to the Radias.
3. (Similar to previous one) Connect the Keylab to your PC using the MIDI DIN ports (using a USB-MIDI cable). Choose now for MIDI IN device the USB-MIDI cable in the preferences of the editor.
I tend to say that the first option would have the least latency, but if it is properly done, you will not notice it for option 2 and 3 neither.
Hqve fun. _________________ microKORGXL, Kaossilator Pro, monotribe, SQ-1, volca fm, Kross 88 BK
