I've got a combi which has karma assigned but is silent,
I can't figure out how to get it to run.
I tried a few things , but nothing seems to work .
all 4 are set to arpeggio 1, so I tried that, tried pressing run.
I'm sure it must be simple.

just learning this brilliant instrument & remaining patient .

It's likely a MIDI Channel issue.

Consider KARMA as a number of musicians that "play" different parts - up to 4.

On the KARMA > GE Setup Page you will see the MIDI I/O section. Each module plays a part on a MIDI output channel. In a combi, typically you would want to set these to Output Channels 2,3,4,5.

OK, so you've got 4 guys playing on 4 different MIDI channels. How do you get them to sound? How do you tell them what instruments to play?

You go to the Timbre Parameters > MIDI page, and you set various timbres to "listen" to the KARMA MIDI channels. In other words, if you want the pattern on KARMA Module A to play Timbre 3's program, you would set Timbre 3 to MIDI Channel 2 (matching the output channel for KARMA Module A) - and so on.

So in a 4-Module KARMA groove, you would typically have some timbres set to MIDI channels 2,3,4,and 5 playing the KARMA Parts. Then you would have a timbre or more set to MIDI Channel 1, so that you cna play the keyboard sounds on top of them.

Could also be your MIDI Clock is set to Internal? KARMA won't play unless it hears a clock signal.

GLOBAL mode on the MIDI/MIDI page.
