Kronos 73 Contract Strips

Post by average_male »

Hi,

I’ve been searching all over the place for weeks and can’t seem to locate any sellers having the blue contact strips in stock for the Korg Kronos 73 or 88 models. Anyone have a good resource for acquiring 7 of these 12-key contact strips?

Tried parts is parts, reverb, eBay, Amazon. Nada...

Thanks,
Moe

Here is the first answer after typing "Korg Kronos contact strip" in Google :
https://www.syntaur.com/korg_kronos.html

You will find blue contact strip in there (part #6333 and #3900)

Saw that, but...

“Only for Kronos keyboards with white or gray foot on key hammers. ”

I have black hammer feet, plus they charge 2x as much as everyone else :)

We know why there is a shortage, they’re buying all of the strips, cornering the market, and charging what they want :)

But seriously, what is the different, besides colors, from white, gray and black hammer feet? Functional differences? might have to get these.

Thanks.

Thanks

Actually, I wouldn't be able to answer your question. The best to do is to contact the Synthaur crew.

Description
Used in these products (as):
KRONOS73 (12 Note Rubber Contact Strip (Blue) - Total of 7 used on keyboard. *Two will need to be trimmed. Refer to the contact cutting instructions in the files section.)

Possibly I don't understand this product or part. Is this standard- the contacts have to be trimmed ?

For 73, yes. You need to get 7 and one of them needs to be cut to fit. Not for 88.

Now the site is saying,

“ Unavailable for Purchase
This listing is temporarily unavailable while the seller is away.”

I was just able to order them from PartsIsParts two weeks ago. The new ones arrived last week and I just installed them today. They had been out of stock for months.

I have a couple of pictures of the old pink vs new blue contact strips. Other than the color, the main difference appears to be that the blue strips are slightly higher than that pink ones. Length and width appear identical.

The critical difference is that the blue ones are different heights, that's why it's important to make sure they line up with the correct keys.
