I am considering buying a Korg Kronos 2 61 to save space on some stages...I have a Korg Kronos 2 88 and it takes up a lot of real estate. The 61 I am considering has a couple of small dents in the screen itself, but the seller says the screen works without any problems.
Does anyone have any experience with a similar situation? I don't want to buy it if these dents might affect the screen, so just need advice or opinions.
Thanks!!! |

Isn't the screen glass. I think glass breaks instead denting. Got a picture? _________________ "To me the synthesizer was always a source of new sounds that musicians could use to expand the range of possibilities for making music."

either the screen is glass or super clear plastic.
If he says dent, my guess is he smacked the membrane underneath- that seems impossible without breaking the glass surface.
Get the seller to spill the story completely. If he doesn't , pass.
Or if he discounts the K61 $500, it might be a consideration.

I really appreciate the responses. I do have a jpg of the screen. Is there a way to post that in a reply? I couldn't figure out a way to do that.
Thanks!!!

Personally I would not buy a Kronos with damaged screen without being able to test it myself to make sure all parts of the screen work correctly. Unless it is an incredible bargain so to cover screen replacement expenses. |

It sounds to me from your description that the plastic touch sense film over the top of the glass LCD has some visible depressions. If you run your finger over a perfect Kronos screen you can see the room light reflection move and ripple slightly under your fingers. If the LCD glass isn't cracked, the dents may only affect the precision of the touch screen function, or have no effect at all. _________________ The companions I can't live without: Kawai Acoustic Grand, Kawai MP11SE, Yamaha Montage8, Korg D1

Great comments and advice. I have decided to pass on this Kronos 2 61...I would have to buy it sight unseen and the way I use my Kronos, I couldn't afford the screen going doing down at a show or having to replaceit
Thanks!!! |
