|
|
Hello
Friends, I have small request to anyone who has PA4x – after update to OS 3.1, I have a feeling that some styles are playing in “strange way”. Can anyone please record for me just a short fragments of two factory styles: from Latin tab: Samba Enredo and Samba Brazil. All I need is just plain Intro 1 , few bars of each variation and Endind 1, without right hand solo, just simple chords with left hand.
I think I performed the update according to correct procedure, but maybe I missed something.
Thanks a lot in advance

Can you explained how you did the Factory Restore?
I am looking for you to respond that you used the file generated by the
Save All
option and that this was undertaken before you updated the OS. _________________ Biggles

Hi Mike
above, pawlikp100 asks if you performed the "factory Restore" and you said that you did.... however, just confirming you performed this actual update step - this step is a specific part of the update process and not just a restore of your data.
Also hoping you did not restore your personal data from a BKP file (backup)
Cheers

Gentlemen,
Thanks for your reply
Yes, I think I have performed all required steps, i.e., before update, I saved my data (I did not have any personal samples etc. just some additional styles and sounds located in Favourite and Directs tabs) - so I did Save All operation. Then I performed the update to 3.1 (of course including clear samples operation as directed). Next I did the "factory Restore". On the end, I reloaded my save file I made before updated to get to my Fav styles.
What is strange, that most styles play OK, yet in some cases (especially the ones I pointed out in my initial post) styles seem to sound kind of “odd”, like backing parts are missing or references are wrong. (I am talking about original factory styles).
Or maybe when Korg changed the OS, they also modified their factory styles so now they sound different than before?
For example, my particular attention and concern is the style from Latin tab: Samba Enredo
Could anyone, please, check the following: Just play simply C maj chord and start the Intro 1 and than go to variation 1. What do you hear - just the drums or whole long intro?
Thank you,
Mike |

I suggest that those with the problem report it directly to Korg.
Additionally if you can record the problem and post it online with a like then that probably will help Korg sort out the issue _________________ Biggles

Hello,
Well, i think the problem is "solved". I did additional factory restore just in case, but also local friend sent me recorded file with that particular style - Samba Enredo.
And, sorry to say it, but that particular style is so ... janky, that I thought my instrument got out of order, yet it seems that it was designed that way (which is a shame in my opinion that Korg put such "factory styles" on first place in Latin tab as representative example - but this is only my opinion).
Anyway, thanks for your interest and help.
Regards
Mike |

Samba Brazil sounds fine when started with a minor chord but yeah intro 1 is messed up as far as majors. Samba Enredo only has drums on variation 1 but the guitar starting from 2 works just fine. Intro 1 and 2 only have drums. Samba Enredo is not a CV issue or wrong voicing assignments because the actual midi data just isn't there. _________________ Ari Pearl Music

Thanks Ari, I just wanted to be sure that my unit did not miss any proper voicing assignment after update.
Cheers
