|
|
I'm doing a reunion gig on NYE needed to access an old Save All file. When I loaded this particular file, I noticed that none of the Setlists I had with that file were transferred. The Setlists that are there are the ones that I have been currently working with. What am I missing here?
Thx! |

Sounds like you didn't save your old setlists.
I know you know that you have to save your setlists before doing a SAVE ALL. _________________ K2 Kronos 88, Mojo 61, Korg CX3, Roland FANTOM 7 |

I always save my Setlists when I'm in Setlist mode. Do I need to save them in Disk Mode as well? |

You are correct to save setlist from the drop down menu before powering down or your changes will be lost. To answer your question, no you don’t have to save your setlist to disk each time before powering down. However, if you had done a save all to disk, you should be able to load setlists from disk. Locate your Prog/combi file and open it. If you see setlists, highlight it and open it. Hopefully you’ll see your setlist and be able to reload it. _________________ Kronos2-61..(2) Triton Classic, Nord Stage 2, Previously owned lots of other gear dating back to the 70’s. |

The only place to "Save" anything is in Disk Mode. In all the other modes you "Write" changes made during edits. If you saved to disk without writing your edits, saving to disk will not reflect the edits, in this case, your Set Lists.
When you do your "Save All" did you save to a unique filename? Look for the date you did your saves. You might be able to find an older save that has the Set Lists you are looking for. _________________ "To me the synthesizer was always a source of new sounds that musicians could use to expand the range of possibilities for making music."

Yes, thank you. I should have said ‘write’ from the drop down menu. _________________ Kronos2-61..(2) Triton Classic, Nord Stage 2, Previously owned lots of other gear dating back to the 70’s. |

When doing a Save All in Disk mode, the Set Lists option needs to be checked in order to include the Setlist data in the saved file.

Hi Sterling,
Just to expand on voip's comment, once you return to an old .PCG file, how to tell which options were selected when it was saved? Well, rather than loading the file and looking around the Kronos modes (SET LIST, COMBI, PROG, SEQ, SAMPLING, GLOBAL) to see what's changed, you can open the file to view a list of its contents, all from DISK mode.
Tap on a .PCG file, then tap the Open button. This lets you "drill into" the file as if it were a folder. You will see some (or all) of the following (quasi-)folders, depending on which options were checked when the file was saved:
- Set Lists, Programs, Combinations, Drumkits, Global Setting, Drum Patterns.
If a folder (e.g. Set Lists) is missing, it means that option was not checked during the save.
You can select one of these subfolders (e.g. Set Lists, Programs, ...) and tap Open again to see a list of the items (e.g, all the set lists, or all the Program banks, and all the programs in each bank, ...) You can even load an individual item from there with the Load button.
When you're done, tap the Up button to emerge from the .PCG file's contents back to the list of real files. In this way you can search through each of your .PCG files.
